It would have to be a booner for me to get a shoulder mount. Otherwise I just do a European mount and they end up sitting on the desk in the guest bedroom. And, no, I don't have any shoulder mounts yet.

Currently have two mounts, first deer(shotgun) and biggest with a bow.

I have 2 that I'd like to get shoulder mounted. Skull cap and euro, just didn't have the funds at the time.

Deciding factor for me is money and wall space. I have plenty of wall space, still working on the other aspect

If I get a 150+ or a drop tine it will get mounted regardless.

It gets mounted if I killed it. I am cautious my wall of fame doesn't become a wall of shame. :p

Pope and young for me, with the gun it has to be over 140" and after that only if I get a bigger 1.

Like others have said if I shoot a buck it is going on the wall. For my son it has to be bigger than his first and my daughter already has said if she shoots another buck this year she wants a European no matter how big it is.

For me it has to be 150+ and I have to of had some history with said buck or some sort of extra exciting story . For the kids 130+ , we don't have wall space for all of them .

We do a lot of euros and even send some to a wildlife artist to have a scene from the hunt painted on it . They're pretty cool and take up a lot less space .

Not interested in score but if I were going to do a shoulder mount it would be a clean, tall 8 point or better that is at least as wide as his ears. Basically just a really pretty, mature representative of the species.

I get horn mounts of all my bucks but if I were to get a shoulder mount it would have to be something special, big rack, history with deer, exciting hunt.... Something like that

With a rifle it's gotta be 150 with character or 170+. With a bow, P&Y, hopefully this year in Missouri I'll have an excuse to visit the taxi. I've got some great bucks on the wall from Saskatchewan so I'm a little picky now.[IMG]

When I feel like its a good deer to get mounted. There are a number of factors that play in at one time.

It would have to be huge, I'm not that into taxidermy so it would have be something special to convince me to spend that kind of money on mounting it.

Bigger than my largest previous buck -or- a buck that I have a story or history. Hunting mostly pressured public land that is 5 hours away it is tough to target specific bucks, but I still try!
