I get why people are buying up handgun and .223 stuff like crazy but why is the larger high power stuff flying off the shelves as well? I went into several stores and ammo such as .270, .308, .300wsm, a lot of 30.06 stuff was completely sold out. I went on-line and much of the same. What am I missing? Nobody is talking about banning larger hunting type calibers. WTF?

Along w. talks of banning guns, many people fear that they will add a tax to ammunition. Something similar to what they have done with alcohol, cigarettes and gas.

I think many people in this country are paranoid and not well informed. I still don't think a federal ban on AR's will get enough votes in the House to pass.

I don't either. But if I had a .223 I would probably stock up just in case as well. I don't understand the buying up of the larger sized hunting round stuff. But I agree the uninformed alarm bells go off in people's head and think that 30.06 ammo is going to be banned or something.

All I want to do is buy a box of a couple different types of ammo to see what load and bullet my gun likes and then sight in my new gun. Is that too much to ask? LOL

I don't think it is paranoid, we just simply don't trust that the government will do the right thing. You'll be singing a different tune if your wrong though.

I'd say it's because .308 is pretty popular with AR 10 firearms and .30-06 is popular in older military style weapons and if anything is presented like what Illinois tried to pass through this week to does effect those rounds. Also the ammo tax that's been thrown around isn't jus gonna be but on 5.56 it'll be everything. But I agree it probably won't pass but better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

What is going on in government right now that would make it necessary for there to be a run on ".270, .308, .300wsm, a lot of 30.06" ammo? There are three branches of Government. Obama can't take all your guns and bullets away even if he wanted to. There is no chance that the House would pass a higher tax on these types of ammo.

Why they pass higher taxes on everything else. The people doing this have no clue what the difference is between all the different types of ammo, other than the fact it all goes into a firearm and firearms kill people. Listen to what some of the people say about different firearms in general, they have no clue.

    They don't

They key word there is "some". Are the politicians (if that is who you are talking about) who are saying these things Democrat or Republican?

So your basing this never happening with party affiliation? That's only gonna get you so far, there anti whatever in both parties regardless of the issue. And yea there's some that know the difference but your not gonna tell me all republican are pro gun or experts on firearms. And yea they raise taxes, Illinois and Missouri both have raised tobacco and gas price taxes recently. Now that's not federal but those are the same people voting on anything from D.C.

    IMO

There will be a "compromise" . How much, that is the question. The house Republicans will make some concessions , expecially if they think it will get them votes.

    They already folded on taxes:rolleyes:

Stopped at the local walmart. They have everything but .223, 7.62 and .45 ammo.

I've been trying to buy some CCI cb .22 or CCI quiet .22... and the ammo shelves at Big R, Farm and Fleet, Walmart and Meijer were pretty much bare. Weird.

My walmart also had 22-250's. I only noticed because they are placed next to the empty space for the .223.

I live in a shotgun state though, this would probably explain why we have the rifle cartridges in stock that you guys are looking for.

I have a local shop, Stockers gun shop here in my town that has a ton of ammo. Maybe they would ship for you guys, call and ask 330 847 9579

This is the same government that rammed a health care mandate down our throats, when the overwhelming majority of Americans opposed it right? So, no I don't trust that they will do what is in the best interest of the majority.

Don't know a lot on the pricing or brand you need, but looks like Cabelas has 22-250 in a few brands
