I'm getting some tires installed so I walked over to the nearby Applebees to grab a beer. After having a "tall" beer, I went to the facilities. As I walk in, a guy had his 6 or 7 year old daughter in there. They walk out and I do my business. The thing that puzzles me the most is I spotted them when I walked out. Momma was sitting at the booth with them, right? Question.... Why couldn't momma take her to the ladies room? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
6-7 is too old. 1) Mom should have taken her. 2) If dad has to take her, he waits outside while she goes into the ladies room.
This ^, but there is an explanation for such behavior. It can be applied just about anywhere. You ready? Here it is... People are stupid.
So here is the dilemma I had recently while watching my neice (6) and nephew (3). The nephew had to go to the bathroom. We were in a crowded mall. For some ungodly reason, mall bathrooms always seem to be down these long, dark hallways. And, of course, malls are always full of undesirable people. I did not want to take my niece into the men's bathroom, but I also did not want to leave her outside by herself. My nephew did not want to get in the bathroom by himself. So what do you do in that situation? I panicked and just made them both hold it...till I found my wife.
Good question. If you are in absolute pinch and have to talk a girl into the men's bathroom, I would make her cover her eyes until inside a stall.
To address the op, I agree with Dan and Vito. As to the mall incident, there are usually family restrooms these days, even in Walmart. Those are handy.
1 of my daughters is 5, and has a mental age of 2, and i don't like taking her into the gents now, i say 3 is the cut off age
I'm glad I just had a son so I never had to face this quandry. LOL AS far as the 6-7 year old girl.... unless she can't walk mom should have gotten off her duff. If she can't you lead a 7 year old to the ladies room and stand outside the door while she does it. You tell her to yell like hell if anyone bothers you. If she's not out in a reasonable time you open the door and ask for her to answer. 6 or 7 is too old to be in the boys room. Although.... I was at a Capitals/Edmondton Oilers match once. A guy took his probably 30 year old date into the mens room. It was well recieved by all in attendance. LOL The line for the ladies room was long and slow. She walked in and waited for a booth and watched guys pee in the urinal trough. Evidently they didn't impress her as she left with he who brought her. LOL
I would say 3-4 would be a cut off. Even then I wouldn't feel right taking my daughter or nice to the restroom. As for the restraunt thing. The mom was just plain lazy! Most malls do have family restrooms now. some of the older ones don't and although it sucks they had to wait, good call. Not the most sanitary of places to try to handle two kids in.
