What are you chasing up there while the rest of us are chasing Toms? Let us live through you!!! We step out and go chase a little turkey, this guy goes on an adventure every single time he hunts! I mean a real adventure. Not downing turkey hunting, I love it, but it can't compare to what Kodiak does on a daily basis.. so tell us Kodiak, what adventures have you been on lately??

I've been snowshoeing around and glassing for sign but not much is stirring yet. Once my friend gets his annual completed we'll have the plane up looking for fresh dens getting broken out. Then we'll have to figure out how to get to them. I've got an idea where that monster from last fall denned up but it'll be a serious PITA getting up there. We had 3x's our average snowfall in March and April hasn't let up any until it changed to rain today. In the meantime I'm trying to decide where Will (iamyourhuckleberry) and I will be hunting black bears on Prince of Whales and setting up other people's bows as well as trying to find time in the girlfriend's schedule to teach her to shoot her bow since she's got the shooting portion of her bowhunter safety coming up on Saturday. If the boat wasn't frozen into the driveway I'd be out fishing king salmon too! Huh, I really didn't feel that busy just a few minutes ago...

Oh yeah, I'll be chasing turkeys in NY before Will and I go for black bears in May.

Just think of them as really big dogs.

Hey Rob, not sure if you caught my post last week or not....can you PM me your number so we can talk about August within the next month or so. It is getting crunch time on our end to start pegging down flights and dates, and I still have a few questions about the whole process.

I am getting my NBEF/IBEP Certification on May 16th, which I think AK requires doesn't it?

Are you and Will still doing the black bear hunt? Good luck with the teddies this spring, hope you skewer a big one. Let me know when you get your guiding license, I'll be the first client. :d

PM sent. I leave for NY May 8.

No need for the IBEP cert. unless you're hunting one of the few bowhunting only seasons, which you're not. I recommend them to everyone anyway. I always learn something out of them, even if I'm teaching one.

Will and I are still on for May. I was just sorting through maps and aerials to find a new spot since an outfitter has set up shop in my usual one.
