Religion and God has been a hot topic lately. How about a thread with a lighter mood? So, what would "heaven" be like for you?

For me, it would obviously center around fishing. I would have endless rivers I could fish for both big brown trout and steelhead. Steelhead would be aggressive towards a swung fly. Big browns would rise during daylight hours, but also smash a big streamer.

The weather would be fall like 90% of the time, with some spring-like weather mixed in. Cloudy days would outnumber the sunny ones. I love cloudy/rainy days...probably because it means good fishing. Wouldn't hurt to mix in short spells of both winter and summer. A little snow now and then would be fine. I could also handle some weather in the 80s, but again, only in short spells.

Of course there will be some bowhunting. There would be a good number of bucks 4.5 plus, but not too many that the hunting is easy. Nothing like Ohio, Illinois, or Iowa. I want it a little challenging. Yes, thats some sarcasm mixed in. It would be a nice mix of farmland and rolling terrain. Plenty of hardwoods too with big oak ridges that lead down into cedar swamps.

I am not a big drinker in terms of the number of drinks I consume, but I certainly enjoy good beers. There would be an endless supply of different types of beer. Mostly ales...browns, pale, belgain, and a few darks, but I'd take suggestions. There are certainly some lagers I enjoy.

Food...lots of food. I love me some food. I want food from all different cultures. I want to try something new everyday, and have some reliable standbys. That pretty much covers it.

    So, whats your heaven like?

i'm a simple person... my idea of heaven would be to be with my fam and not having to work for 'the man' any longer... winter is 6 months long, summer is 6 months long... none of that in between crap... on Dec 1st the temp drops to 20 degrees and snows... on June 1 the temp pops up to 85 and stays that way for 6 mos...

A place where there is no more pain, suffering, hunger, need, hate, and anger.

EXACTLY. That's why it's so hard to comprehend the magnitude that is heaven. Vito, I think my human version of heaven would be pretty similar to yours, but heaven will likely be something so much more wonderful than any of us can dream of.

I think heaven is right here on earth, and it is right at our fingertips. We just chose as a human race to treat each other like crap (myself included). Think of all the wonderful things here on earth and if we cooperated on a global scale. I know life can be hard, but it is good. I am happy to be alive.

Never really thought about it. I am content on waiting to see when/if I get there.

Should things go south... I won't being wondering even then if I am standing in the long line to the other place. I'll be thinking about all the bad girls !! :nana: Gotta think positive and make the best of it !! :D

C'mon guys, this was suppose to be fun. It wasn't really a serious question. Where is your sense of imagination? You guys need to lighten up.

If cancer, drunk drivers killing people, senseless murders, Glen Beck, etc is heaven...maybe hell won't even have warm Miller Lite. :(

I must have drank 100,101 "Beast Lite" beers in college. If either place has that stuff flowing, I am jumping off the first cloud/hell pit I can find!

That was the other beer that sucked. I couldn't stand it. Old Mil wasn't great but it was drinkable. It was dirt cheap back in high school/college. $6 a case. Many a good time and many a brain cell was killed drinking that stuff.

Great thread... Hmmm, endless fields of golden knee high grass filled with sharptails/huns and pheasants. Two pointing dogs cast out in front of me gripping my shotgun and my favorite boots on. And a pipe filled with fine tobacco.

Wow, most of you guys dream small. I myself have much higher view of Heaven than repeating earthly stuff.

Ok BC....I'll give it a short go. I would love to fly around with a comet for awhile just to see where it goes. I want to travel to the ends of the universe sometimes. I would love to fly all over space and eat a wonderful meal of General Tso's chicken while watching some distant sun set on another inhabited planet. Talking with people from the past about their beliefs and cultures who be fantastic...Martin Luther King, George Washington, Ghandi, Native Americans, Columbus, indigenous people, etc.

Your getting there. But still earthly.

I want to sit in the glory of the Creator. Another dimension that words cannot even describe. A feeling that has never been felt on earth. Where basically this world and this universe would be like a small book compared to this dimension. Where you find the source of all peace, the source of all bliss. And you never feel pain, worry, or need again.

I don't think our minds can grasp the cponcept of it (heaven).

So, why do some of us think we can grasp everyone else's relationship with God?

    Speaking of thinking "earthly"...................
