Youtube. You can purchse complete uppers and complete lowers. Basically you just have to pin them together. If you get a stripped lower, you will have to install the trigger, mag release and safety. There are step by step instructions. If I were doing it, I would probably buy a complete upper, and whatever type of lower I could find.

It's not bad putting one together. There's a lot of good resources out there. Like couple other ppl said right now your lower and probably what mags you want would be first thing I'd be looking at.

You can buy them from a dealer, or order them online. If you order them online, it will have to ship to an FFL dealer. You will need to set that up in advance and the dealer will probably charge you a small transfer fee. Most online sellers can help you located a FFL dealer.

paid for a rugar mini 14 today! pick it up tommorow. i already have an AR-15 i use for coyote hunting and anything in the back yard. im afraid that they will have so many restrictions and tax ammo so much that i will be using my bow for home defense... maybe a crossbow lol

Both. I just don't see what the big deal is with them. I've shot one before and I have just as much fun with my 10/22 and it's a lot cheaper to shoot. Don't see the need for them as a self defense weapon and I really don't see why they cost so damn much (before the demand soared). Just my opinion.

I'll take that money and buy a decent home defense shotty and maybe a Crossbreed holster for my glock with a lot of money to spare. :)
