What, if anything, do you put down in front of your trail cameras?

I just wanted to see what everybody use to bring in the wildlife into range for the cameras?

I am kind of itching to try something different and see if makes any difference. I am relatively new to the trail camera scene but have been using corn, salt, and various store bought attractants.

Put the Camera where wildlife are frequent look for trails also and signs, and you also can setup a mineral site or use corn or locate around known food sources for deer in your neck of the woods. These are just some of the tactics I use.

Mostly Monster Raxx, food plots and highly used deer trails. In the fall I love setting cameras up over scrapes. Another good one is mixing Monster Raxx mineral, Monster Raxx apple attractant and corn. The attractant helps coat the corn with MR mineral and really gives it a great aroma.

When it comes to trails, I educate myself on where the deer are most highly active. I go with Monster Raxx for a mineral site attractant and I've recently put down corn as well, both with great results.

I usually use some type of mineral or nothing at all. When i don't put nothing at all i'm trying to see the natural game movements through that certain area.

I use a combination of trace mineral salt, dicalcium phosphate, stock salt and dried molasses. By me around $50 makes 200lbs. Last time I replenished the spot was at the beginning of September 2012 and the deer have hit that spot all fall, and this winter they have hit it a few times as well.

I use minerals and mostly corn. The only problem with corn is it attracts coons and they'll stay around until it's gone, filling up your sd card and draining the batteries. Deer really need the minerals coming out of winter so I'm giving them plenty of that. The minerals I've had the most success are buck jam and lucky buck. Lucky Buck can be hard to find but my deer go crazy over it.

    Blessings..........Pastorjim

We feed corn year round. We also keep out mineral and salt blocks.

We'll feed some protein during antler growth months too.

Corn is in broadcast feeders, hung on a tripod with a winch (no need for a ladder to fill and keeps out some of the corn thieves)

We get more pigs than anything else. They tear everything up, to the point where we have to stake down the feeders with T-posts and wire them to the legs.

Protein is fed from free choice feeders, we try to put them too high for pigs to reach, but low enough for deer to get at it.

We've fed black eye peas in the past as well. They are high in protein, extremely digestible, and do not contain any aflatoxins that are said to be harmful to upland game birds. The downer, is that right now, peas are double the cost of corn, so I'm not feeding them.

There is no denying that minerals in the spring and corn in the fall will attract deer.

I have killed deer utilizing corn as bait, but never minerals. They dont have enough attraction power during hunting seasons as opposed to corn/beans.

A good natural scrape can be solid as well...just be careful you dont ruin your hunting setups by checking cameras.

I have thrown out a lot of different things over the winter/spring for the deer to eat...

    Orscheln Apple-Flavored Deer Corn

    Record Rack Deer Corn

    Golden Deer Nuggets

    Record Rack Professional

    Record Rack Sportsmen

    Antler Attak Deer Feed

    Purina Antler Max

    Purina Antler Max Watershield

I also had a bag of corn covered in molasses from a local feed company.

I have to say that outside of the corn the deer seemed to like the Golden Deer Nuggets over all of the other products. I usually feed once every two or three weeks. I did a test once with the Record Rack Professional, Antler Attak, Golden Deer Nuggets and Record Rack Deer Corn. I dumped each bag in a different spot and when I went back the next week to check the trail cam, the nuggets and the corn were gone, but the other stuff was still there. I also tried dumping out a couple bags of alfalfa cubes, but the deer didn't really seem to like that. It could have been a bad time of year to dump that out for them. I found it interesting that they didn't really like the Record Rack Professional and Record Rack Sportsmen. This led me to believe that those products are best when they are mixed with corn.
