On the other hand, a tee shirt or underwear will work in a pinch.

Do you guys hunt thermals? I think of it as a good idea especially for guys hunting ridges, hill tops and valleys. Was wondering if anyone had any good or bad experiences they can relate to them?

Always were safety harness and life line. yesterday me and my friend were out making the final prep on tree stand set we went to take out a old stand of my friends and replace it with a new muddy on his 40. He got up to take out his ez hang he put in last fall and went to step on the peg and the stand broke free him and the stand fell but his life line saved him. We got the new muddy in and called it a night. If he was not wearing a safety harness I would have been calling 911. It is about a 21 foot fall from were the stand was hung to the ground

Hunting is not about killing a trophy buck. If that's how you measure a successful hunt, you're gonna get sick of hunting before too long. Hunting success is about being out enjoying the experience of being a part of nature. If you harvest a deer, look at it as a bonus.

This thread is great! Some of these things said are hilarious!!
I've learned from nearly every single encounter that I've had with a whitetail. So many lessons learned, and so many more to be taught.
The top lesson I've learned is patience. Waiting on the deer to move without getting aggravated at all the hours of sitting with no action. They will move eventually.....keep hunting. Next aspect of patience---> Wait for the shot, and don't rush it. Nearly every single time, the deer will present you with a kill-shot....wait for it.

Don't forget to retrieve your $40 arrow if you shoot a big buck and watch it fall within sight
