Share you're learning experience so that others may or may not benifit from them.

I have decided that given the opportunity at a broadside shot or a qaurtering away shot I will take the braodside.

43 years of bowhunting. Lesson #194, big bucks are harvested the first week and the rut. Dump baldies and muskie fish inbetween.

Don't mess up your best stands by over hunting them or on a iffy wind.

Life is fragile for brown 4 legged critters within 40 yds of my stand.

Remember to tie on your hoist rope to your climber BEFORE you climb up the tree.

Grab your safety harness BEFORE you grab your bow to head into the woods!! Make it a mental note and it's hard to forget it!!

Also, if your buddy invites you over to his house to shoot, first off make sure the target can withstand your arrow, secondly dont take a shot if the target is leaning up against his house. Or you may have to climb under his trailer and see that your arrow went through the target, through the skirting, right through his sewer line, and into the main water line... it was a wet, poopy, saturday afternoon...

Don't get caught up in peer/media pressure to buy the newest best gear. There is no shame in Walmart camo.
Buy from local archery shops when you can.
Don't listen to everyone who tells you the "best" way to hunt.
Don't think you have to justify why you hunt, because you don't.
Never give up. The big one could be below your stand they day you decided to sleep in.
On a cool morning as the sun rises, take a deep breath and absorb God's creation. Life seems simpler after that.

Practice shooting from all around the target, distance, angle and height, then just walk around randomly without measuring and shoot. Hold on though - that's not the lesson.

Before changing angles and height, REMOVE YOUR ARROWS FROM THE TARGET. If you don't do this your arrows can hit each other and destroy the carbon...

    Forget the wind.
If you found the trail cam, its yours.
    Practice is for losers.
    Fixed blades never fly straight.
Tree stand harness? You mean baby straps?

Enjoy God's creation. You never know when it will be your last time to see a sunrise on an April morning or sit in a stand on a crisp November day.

years ago when i use to smoke i learned when you are up in your climber and you drop your pack of smokes on the ground you can tie your hoist rope to an arrow and spear the pack of smokes and pull them up
