Right after I started bowhunting I found this site, didn't join right away because I didn't feel that I could add anything meaningful but many of the problems that I had from shooting a bow, setting one up correctly, different deer behaviours, etc. I found answers to within the forum pages and that wealth of knowledge from the great people on this site has helped me in so many ways to be a successful bowhunter. Now I try to do the same by imparting what little I have learned as I have the opportunity.

Most helpful things I learned as a first year bow hunter, were
    1) never ignore the wind
    2) when in doubt back out (got my first buck this way)
3)ya cant kill em from your couch gotta get out and hunt

I need to come up with some new topics for the WC. Been a while since I started a good juicy one.

I've learned that I'm not the only person that wastes far too much time on the computer when I'm not in the stand.

I have learned and I am shocked how many people don't hunt while they are hunting they are just sitting in a tree playing games on their phone. If you can't go a couple hours without looking/playing/messaging you have a problem.

Some people don't see many deer. You get pissed if all you see is does.

I learned about lamp shades. I also learned about feeding diesel fuel to wild life.

Sure but what about movement, glare etc. I don't text my frustration with only seeing does.

Brad isn't texting his frustration. He expresses frustration through selfies.

Seriously I've learned there are many folks that are addicted as I am to the pursuit of whitetails....

I've also learned that many of the aforementioned people I am jealous of for owning their own ground or access to large chunks of it :tu:

I've also learned that harvesting huge bucks doesn't always mean you are a skilled hunter...could just mean you reside in Iowa, Kansas or parts of Illinois. :lmao: Had to fellas, j/k (kinda)!

Huh??? There is no caring involved, many of the things I mentioned have great back stories you weren't around for. Harcore was a jackwagon and the best hunter ever, Crabtree was straight cray cray, Germ was obsessed for a few seasons with a buck, Crik's hands are truly large for his frame. What I posted was a simple recap of the old days of this forum and another we all used to shoot the bull on.

Rancid was a cancer on many sites, possibly the most universally disliked poster in the archery forums. I really enjoyed his self inflicted downfall.
