Exciting ties around the corner... Christmas for my boys and Bowl season for me! What have you guys been up to lately?
Just started a two week vacation on Friday. Checking trail cams, building a new one (hopefully), and starting to lay out the design for a built in closet storage system for the wife. Will do the holiday traditions with the families, of course. Other than that, just same old, same old. Still hopelessly looking for ground (we've set a timeframe to begin building in three years).
Usually im out scouting after season ..but we got some early ice this yr so ive been hooking sum trout lately..
Work, work, work. I'll take off a week or so after Christmas and take the boys hunting. The rut is in full swing and I we should have a great hunt. I don't hunt much myself anymore, but I do enjoy taking the boys and living through their excitement. With an 11, 8, and 5 year old I hope to have many more years of taking them.
Traveling around seeing family for Christmas and dealing with a killer sinus cold (going on day 14). I'm hoping to get out a couple more times before the season ends on the 31st.
Just went back to work last week after hunting since mid October. Did some x-mas shopping yesterday, and after its over I`ll prolly be working on my house trying to finish up some projects. That is of course, in between predator calling and some ice fishing...
I've been clearing snow off the driveway, continuing to do stuff around the new house and slipped out with Rick James and another friend to shoot some AR's at the local gun range.
What? It takes Buckeye to come out of hiding for you to post??? Don't make me come over there and kick yer button, Jason...
Back in Kentucky for a full month before my last semester of Pharmacy school kicks off in January. Spending it either going out at night, hunting, or both...depending on the day of the week. I am neck deep in researching which draws to apply for this spring hunting wise as well, as once school starts I just won't have the time.
So, you say you're spending you whole time hunting, just different prey during the day than during the night.
freezing my *** off... tromping though deep snow to beat your buck. As usually it isn't working out so far. Seeing lots of bucks. Biggest is around 135 though. Yesterday's hunt was brutal. 8 below by the time I got back to the truck with a 10 - 20 mph wind. I sat for 2.5 hrs. The last half hour was tough. Saw a couple decent bucks again yesterday but nothing I wanted to shoot. Next year is looking good though. There will be some nice ones to chase. Tim
Working like crazy during the week, and spending weekends with my little man and wife at the new place in IL. We are all settled in the new place and I've spent the past few weeks doing small projects that don't really need done, but I've never been able to sit down in my spare time and I don't really know anyone here yet so I end up doing "stuff" around the house and building things. It's good I'm around now too........I've been able to give wifey a bit of a break since she's staying at home with our son full time now. I'm hoping when open water gets here I've got some points racked up with her so I can spend some time on the water.........can't wait to start exploring the local lakes and maybe make some fishing buddies. I did manage to get out with raceway last weekend to shoot some guns at the local gunstore, and I'm almost finished with my man cave project now too.
See the other thread. It's nothing super special, we are only going to be here a few years so I couldn't justify spending a ton of $$$ on it. With that said, it's functional and I've got everything I need in there for tuning a bow, working on guns, or reloading.
It's been a crazy year and I'm in a funk. No hunting spot since right before Thanksgiving and the first holidays without the father in law plus all the stuff that comes with moving and settling in. I also have crappy hours at work and can't post while most of you are on here
