Gold tip arrows are affordable and strong I have never had a problem but that is just my opinion. We would have to know what your primary use would be. Hunting, spots, 3d, and whether or not indoor or out.
I may get reemed for this but for hunting as long as your spined properly there really isnt a bad arrow on the market your only question will be which type of vane you need. With a fall away it really doesnt matter, but on a whisker biscuit you may want to use blazer type vanes or feathers they tend to hold up better. I personally use mostly feathers and they fly great no matter what I am shooting with or at. If you would like to learn more about the pros and cons of feathers just pm GMMAT and he can fill you in on them. When it comes to feathers he is the man.
found this link another thread for those with the question i had here is a URL http://www.bowhunting.com/publish/posts/2/building-your-own-arrows.aspx
