I was thinking this morning bout my Grunt call and if it's really affective. I have a knight and hale one that has the ez twist so I can go from a fawn bleat to a buck in rut. What one do you use and has it been useful?

I use a Primos Buck Roar, but I only use it around this time of year. Me and a buddy have both had pretty good success using it.

    Original Tru talker.

Yes, it has worked well. I have thought about buying the Tru talker 2.

I always like TruTalkers. Couldn't find them this year. I use and really like the MAD Buck Growl. Like the tone as well as anything, especially on the new ones. Don't "growl" very often. Limited situation you can be that aggressive, but for normal grunting it has worked great for me.

flextone bone collector here too - just grunted in a 9 (from over 100 yds) and an 8 last weekend. Loudest & deepest grunt I have heard.

Illusion call. great sound, easily flips from fawn to doe to buck and allows you to adjust the sound of the buck to its assumed age

I use a Flextone Original All-n-One and it has worked great for me. I grunted in a nice Muley buck earlier this year that was grunting and snorting up a storm. He was full of all kinds of piss and vinegar when he came to my grunting and rattling! Gotta love it!!!!

The Primos Buck Roar is a great call. Easy to get louder tones and pitch out of it without worrying about blowing too hard. I've had it for 3 years now and it still works great.

I have 22 calls, including True Talker, Flextone, Buck Roar, Woods Wise, Primos and a few "Cans". The ONLY ONE that I take hunting is the Extinguisher by Illusion. It make all deer sounds and to me sounds the most like the real thing. I do not consider my self an expert caller but I have call quite a few in. I spent 42 days in the woods bowhunting this fall. I passed 18 different bucks and some only came close enough because of the Extinguisher. Also, they make great Turkey calls. Their box calls are designed in the McPherson (Matt McPherson - Mathews) Guitar labs.

I use flextone, and a primos can. Never let me down. If you know how, or learn, how to snort/wheeze sometimes that will bring a dominant buck on a string. Even smaller bucks may appear to watch the fight :)

    Good Luck. God Bless.

I have both the Flex tone bone collector and their buck rage call. I had a tru talker and gave it to my brother and bought the flex tones. I wish I had kept the tru talker. The bone collector when it gets cold out here in mn it is very hard to push in to get the different sounds. Plus when I have it pushed in for the doe call it is hard to get the call to sound the same every time I blow it. The Tru talker worked alot easier in the cold the reed never froze up and it always sounded good.

flextone bone collector also. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I've had very good luck with it & even at long distances on a calm day.
