Do I need different grit for inserts too in case they need squared?

I'm not a fan of using sandpaper to square arrows. IMO it's not precise enough, and that's the whole point of squaring them in the first place. A device designed for arrow squaring like a G5 ASD or a Lumenok FAST tool are much better for this application.

If you're going to do it, something in the 80-120 grit range should suffice. Just make sure you clean the arrow good before gluing inserts in.

Alright Thanks. I bought a tool similar like the lumenok one. But it said to put sandpaper in the groove that squares the shaft. So I didn’t want to buy one too coarse.
