Ive always bowhunted but never really seriously but I bought a new Hoyt charger this year and am going to really into it this year. My draw weight is 60# and my draw length is 28" and I'm shooting a 400 grain arrow with a 100 grain field tip and am wondering if there is a better option to shoot? I get pretty good groups

I used to shoot a similar setup. 65# draw, 28" arrow, 100 and 400. I've also used 340's with the same on the other stuff and both scenarios produced good results. Unless you just want to mess around a little, probably not a lot of reason to change things.

Are you confusing a 400 spine with 400 grain?

Weigh or figure the weight (add shaft and all components) of your arrows including tip. I like an arrow in the 7-8 grains per pound of draw weight. For my 60# bow I shoot 7.1gpp and my 70# bow I shoot 7.5 (Axis) or 8.3 (FMJ) arrows.

I am shooting the exact same as you, 400 spine 100 grain tip, complete arrows weigh about 380 gr. They WILL pass thru on a good shot
