There's a whole lot of deer hunters in here, but what else are you shooting? I only got 2 choices out here... goat and boar.
This year I HOPE to chase Whitetail, Coues Whitetail, Sitka Blacktail, and atleast two species of turkey. Next year, if this year pans out, I plan to try for the other two species of the deer slam, and possibly a spring black bear hunt.
I hunt elk, whitetails, turkeys, pronghorn and bear seasonally here in Idaho. Can hunt mule deer too with one of my two deer tags.
My main hunting consists of bear and deer. On occasion I'll go out west for an elk hunt when money Is available. I also hunted some turkeys this year for the 1st time. Lots of fish and rabbits have found the tip of my arrow as well, a few pheasants here and there too via flu flu arrows.
I pity the hunter who resolves to look no farther than his own backyard. He truly lives in the dark... I would have asked the question, what don't you hunt? I would have simply said "nothing". Atta Boy Jeff!
Bow: deer, turkey, probably waterfowl a little this fall Gun: deer, turkey, waterfowl. I squirrel hunt about once a year, and hope to get out to Wyoming in a couple of years too for some pronghorn action.
I broadened my horizon to include hogs this year as well. Hopefully I'll get another shot at that this summer sometime.....Otherwise I'll be sticking with deer and turkey, and hopefully expanding to include another state this year.
Dude, I know it's incredibly beautiful over there. . . but I'd be on the first boat back to the mainland
That could be true. We do have feral cats all over the place... but as far as anyone eating them? Never heard of it. We have wild chickens too, but mostly diseased. Someone mentioned the deer too over here. Deer seems to be a mythical animal that only lives on one tiny section of the island, but nobody's ever caught one. It's nice to see all the options everyone has out there.
Well my choices here are a bit different. I go for camels, wild horses, and feral donkeys here in the desert. Buffalo, feral pigs and wild bulls up north. Then wild goats, foxes and deer down south. Would love to have a crack at some of your animals one day.
