I have yet to use the video feature on any of my cams. My i590 and my i40 both have it though, my cuddeback does not.
Up to this point it has been all stills. But my wife just bought me another cam, a Leaf River IR7SS, which I will be using exclusively in the video mode. Blessings.....Pastorjim
I've been shifting to video mode as of late. I like the video, the only problem is its going to take up a ton more hard drive space:D
The only reason I still use my no flash cuddeback Is because of the fact that It takes video's as well. My no flash has a minute of shut down time In between pictures and If I didn't use the video (one minute video) along with It I would miss allot of action. My Reconyx doesn't have a video mode but It also doesn't have a shut down time In between pics either.
I use stills now that I'm allowed to use feed. If I used video, I would burn up the card in no time and not get as many different deer. I also had to set the cams to a 5 minute delay between pics just to cut down on so many repeat pics of the same deer. As a matter of fact, when the cam was set at 1 minute delay, it looked like an old time motion picture when I rapidly kept clicking next on my computer! When I hunted where feed wasn't allowed, I used video on trails, especially in the late season when deer started grouping up. With the 1 minute delay between pics, I was missing out on a lot of deer that were following the lead deer down the trail. Many times, the last deer in line was a buck which id what I was most interested. The only way to capture the buck was to use video.
