I too, just came back from 8 days in Northern Ontario catching lots of fish. Pictures.... I don't have. I took a camera and not pictures, but after 9 years going to the same place... pictures are not on my list of things to do. My buddy did carry one of those "GoPro" cameras. We did a few videos of underwater stuff and unique shots landing fish but that was it. I don't have them yet. Pictures are over rated. LOL I'll try and get some pictures of my heart work on Friday. Getting some stents is all I hope for. I definetly don't want the big chest cut.
An old friend (all my friends are old now just like me) and I will be hiking Mt Charleston west of Las Vegas later this week to get into shape for hunting season and other backpack trips coming up later in the year. Our notion of a fun time in Vegas is a killer hike in 100 degree heat. At least during the daytime. At night I like the poker tables there. They have great jackpots. Mexican beaches are ok but I have burned out on Cancun and Cozumel. Too easy I guess. Burned out on hookers too both in Vegas and at the SF Barbary Coast (north beach). Getting ready and in shape for hunting season is as all encompassing as the hunt itself. And it takes time. Especially after last year's Thanksgiving, Xmas, New Years and Easter feasts.
I really need a vacation. Preferably to the mountains somewhere. Although a tropical paradise wouldn't be so bad either.
I get 10 weeks every summer to do what I want. Can't kill anything then, so I'll make the most of it lying on a beach, fishing on a Canadian lake, touring wineries in the finger lakes, etc. All while you suckers are stuck at work:D The trade off is I don't get to take weeks off during hunting season like you guys...then I'm the sucker
Where to? I'd go crazy if I took a vacation somewhere to sit on a beach. I always come back from vacations way more exhausted than before I left.
It's not my first choice, but my wife gets 2 weeks a year, and one of which is her pick. We went with a group, so it was a bit more fun, and we did do a few excursions as well (went parasailing for the first time), so it was fun. I was ready to get back into things once back, though. I was running the chainsaw cleaing out landscaping and trees the very next morning.
Took our daughter to Disney this past spring break, turns out this place is the opposite of a vacation.
WORD, Nice pics guys! I come home from travel vacations more stressed than If I would have stayed at home and relaxed!
Hooker you have opened up my eyes to whole new area of the country I would like to take a vacation too. Thanks, T
Seattle for 3 days and then our Alaskan cruise begins. We're salmon fishing, whale watching, and taking a float plane over the Misty Fjords. August can't come soon enough.
Yes sir...we're looking forward to it. Its kinda our last "hoorah" before little Finches make their appearance.
