Depends on the size of the project. I've used a self propelled push mower, dr brush mower, and a 5ft bush hog to mow. to work the ground, i've used a rake, rear tine garden tiller, atv disc, 6ft 3pt disc, and a 5ft 3pt tiller...same with spreaders....everything from a hand spreader, push spreader, to an atv mounted spreader.

I have a couple disks, but they are junk so I don't ever use them. I use my 5' tiller instead. To this point, I have always just used a bag seeder for throwing seed and it works just fine. One of my buddies just got a nice three point spreader, so I hope to be using that in the future.

We use a buddy's 55 hp Ford tractor. He has a disk and two blade plow for it. We use a home made ATV sprayer that I just made for weed killing/fertilizing. For clearing mowed grass/weeds a pull behind lawn dethatcher. Then we just use a hand spreader to spread the seed.

    We use:

    Land Pride King Kutter Tiller
    Spring Tooth Harrow
    3pt Spreader (rarely use it)
    ATV Spreader (for fertilizer/lime application)
    Hand Spreader (for most seeding)

I have a homeade 5' disc that is a lot like a plot master. A spring tooth, a homeade drag made out of chain link fence. An old farm section of a drag, a broadcast seeder, 4 wheeler, soil conditioner, roller, sprayer. That is the small scale equipment.

On the larger scale there is a great plains no til drill, 8, 12- 14 foot discs, cultipacker, but i prefer to not use the big stuff as it aids in soil compaction.

I have an amish welder making less expensive food plot discs and spring tooths. I believe the spring tooths are an overlooked gem for people on a budget.

Yep, we've used ours quite extensively over the years.

i use a 5 ft atv pull behind disc and hand seeder for areas i can get the tractor in. i would also like to make a homemade springtooth/field cultivator for my atv out of some old farm equipment we have laying around. for the bigger plot i have it gets the same treatment as the field next to it whether it be the 28ft disc or 42 ft field cultivator then with the 16 row planter with either corn or soybeans, definately the faster method.
