brewing beer finishing my basement camper on the weekends fishing (walleye, bass, pike) drinking aforementioned beer
If I had a large enough yard, I would be doing the same thing. I've been trying to convince my wife to let me get a few chickens, but so far, she hasn't caved. At the moment I just have a couple of raised bed gardens with some select herbs, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, potatoes, spinach, and sweet corn. In the winter I grow all kinds of different lettuces. I guess you could add gardening to one of my passions, or really just add "good food".
Bruce, that is awesome. I have been working on reclaiming some of our gardens with my wife. We let them go the last year and are paying for it. I would love to plant some vegetables. We have grown some peppers and tomatoes but nothing major. Florida Marine (Sean) you are a gifted person in many many different areas. I am not kidding. The kind of work you do with your hands is amazing. Hooker, that work you did in your house on your bed and cabinet was just fantastic. My wife would die for some stuff like that, BUT I am pathetic in making that kind of stuff. Vito, your photography and fishing prowess is amazing. MN/Jay---any good books I could read on brewing my own beer? I am not a big drinker but I would not mind learning how to brew some beer.
From now until August I will be thinking about nothing but inshore sal****er fishing! (Why is sal****er a cuss word!?!?) Some of these fish you have probably never heard about but Ill give you a run down. Some of these are a few years old. This is a Snook. Fast and powerful! They grow up to 40lbs and 50in long. A 5 pound snook and a 5 pound bass are uncomparabe in strentgh of fight. Snook blow bass out of the water! And they are excellent table fair!! Little brother with a nice one! Then we have the redfish. Strong and thick!! They arent as fast as a snook but they are stong and like to fight!! Great eating also!! Down in my area they grow to around 30-40lbs and 50-60in! But the world record is 94lbs caught in NC. We also catch speckeled trout and snapper and lots of catfish and ladyfish (trashfish). I have yet to catch the elucive silver king aka the tarpon. The tarpon capital of the world is Boca Grande Pass and its only about 8 miles from where we fish. Sorry for the long one but I really love this stuff!!
Wow...it's kinda sad that it won't allow you to post your pictures because "sal****er" is not allowed on this site... Put a hyphen between salt and water.
I love inshore salt fishing. I try to get down to the marshes a couple times a year. Redfish sauce piquante is just a perfect dish. And you have not fished until you have pulled in a big red on lite tackle. They have amazing strength. I actually baked a few flounder the other night for the first time, and I loved the mild flavor of the fish, but nobody warned me about all those little bones. My wife thought she was going to die because she swallowed one.
All we do is light tackle stuff!! Nothing better! Yea those flounder will get you with thoses little bones got to be careful!

Your best bet is to start visiting forums like this one. www.homebrewtalk.com is where I learned everything, plenty of reading material there along with some great people who will help you along the way.
guess i only workout because i dont wanna get too fat, been made to workout my entire life and just tough now to keep up that intensity i love to ice fish, actually i'm the worlds WORST open water fisherman, if you have me in your boat or next to you on the bank the fish aint gonna bite love to hop on my sled and burn up some two-stroke target shooting and clays are always fun too. very little bird hunting (about 3-4 times a yr) still am holding on to video games as a relaxation tool, but not much time anymore did i say beer?
Hunting is my passion. I take my work seriously. I enjoy fishing some, but only when nothing else is going on to be honest. I take my school seriously as well, heading into Pharmacy School next fall. If I am not working, hunting, or in college, I spend my freetime with friends and family going out and the likes. I don't really carry other hobbies.
Fishing. Mostly Trout & Smallmouths and almost entirely in streams. Not really a pond or lake fisherman. Although the park near my house has some small lakes with some giant large mouths in them. Pretty much artifical lures only anymore too. I dabble in fly fishing for trout, but mostly its spinners for them. Running Shooting/reloading(mostly handguns) Drinking good craft beer(haven't gotten into brewing my own)
I live on a lake with pretty good bass and pan fishing. During the summer I'll get out 4-6 days a week. I really enjoy getting out and surface fish for large mouth bass. I'm not big into bluegills, but it's fun to take the nieces and nephew out. I enjoy wakeboarding and water skiing. I have a couple of friends that go on the big lake, Lake Michigan. It's a riot going out and catching some big o' trout and salmon. Each week I play ultimate frisbee with a bunch of people from Bible study- it's my favorite way to exercise. I'm a numbers freak.
I am really starting to get into fishing pretty seriously and I love playing softball and baseball in the summer but my real other number 1 passion is music. I don't play very well at all, but I listen. A LOT! and go to a ton of shows every year. And not your everyday mainstream... stuff... I like a lot of Indie Rock, and Alt Country stuff. I do enjoy classic rock and classic country but there isn't much new stuff that trips my trigger.
I'm guilty of delving into too many things that interest me, and often, not sticking with them as much as I had planned. I'm truly only passionate about hunting, home remodeling, and photography. These are the things that stick with me and continue to always stir a fire in me. I've toyed with flyfishing, I spin fish every summer for fun, I mountain bike, ride ATVs, dabble in food plots, build trail cams, etc, etc. None of these get as much dedicated time as the aforementioned three above.
