I just bought a new Prime Nexus 4 and looking to get a new rest for it. I alway shot QAD HDX and haven’t had any problems, I do notice the launcher is loud when it drops but never really bothered me. I have been looking at hamskea trinity hunter pro, but I’m reluctant bc I never had a limb driven rest b4. What are you all shooting and if limb driven do you get it caught on brush or anything while carrying it? Thanks
I've had 3 of QAD rest over the years and had problems with 1 of them. I would agree that they are louder then other rest. But overall a good rest. What I like the best about them is the ability to pre cock the rest, don't get that with the limb driven. I have a Hamskea rest now for 3 years and have had zero problems other then one that I self inflected. I don't have the trinity, but the model before. Maybe it was called Hunter micro adjust? It is a tank! It's way over built. The spindle and bearings are probably 4x the size of QAD and it has zero movement in the shaft. I know the trinity has inner and outer bearings, so it can only be even stronger. I had the same fear of a cable going down to a limb, but it hasn't moved on me ever. It doesn't interfere with normal use of your bow and rarely gets caught while hunting. I would buy another in a heart beat if needed. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I believe @alenhard15 uses the Trinity, maybe he can weigh in on how he likes it. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I currently have a QAD, a middle of the road model that I can't remember the name of. I've had no issues with it, except for the mole skin that is necessary so arrows don't make noise. It wears out or comes off after being in a good rain. I haven't looked very much yet, but I'd say try to find one that is made from something that won't make noise when an arrow is drawn across it.
I've been shooting the HHA Virtus since it came out a few years ago with zero issues. Like all HHA products it's built like a tank, has a great warranty, backed by amazing customer service, and a portion of proceeds from the sale of the rest go to help Veterans. I have played with a few QAD rests in the past and always had more trouble setting them up than I've had with my HHA. Although I will admit the Integrate mounting system on the new Mathews and Hoyt bows makes them awfully attractive.
I've tried A LOT of rests, but always come back to the QAD. I put a small rubber pad on the shelf below the rest, so it is very quiet when it strikes it. You can find those online--they're made just for that purpose.
Limbsaver makes a rubber pad for the shelf, you can also get a square of adhesive back thin rubber and cut to fit for your needs. I ended up buying a HHA Virtus rest, I’m not sold on limb driven rests, I don’t like the extra cord and the inability to have the rest locked up when bow isn’t drawn.

QAD HDX on the Elite Ritual 33 and a Ripcord Maxx Micro on the Bowtech .... both have been flawless ...
I have a QAD HDX rest on both my bows. I have had a QAD HDX rest on my last 5 bows. Never noticed any of them being loud. I must say I am very interested in their Integrate MX Rest.
