I know it's been done before, but I'm in the market for a few base layers and possibly some medium-weight cool weather garments, so I'm curious.

List your layers, and I will break it down by early, mid, and late season as I know it changes:

    Early Season:

    Mid-Season:

    Late-Season:

    Early Season:
Scent X bottom/top or Scent Lok baselayers
Gray Wolf Predator Green - Wolfskin Hensley shirt - Wolfskin Cargos
Pack in a Predator Brown Deception fleece vest if it get's chilly waiting for sunup/sundown
Gray Wolf Predator Green Wolfskin baseball hat

    Mid-Season:
Scent X bottom/top or Scent Lok baselayers
Rocky Performance Fleece medium weight long underwear (oversized, wear them over the Scent X/Scent Lok)
Gray Wolf Predator Brown - Wolfskin zip up collared jacket - Wolfskin Cargos (pack in the jacket so I don't sweat too much)
Gray Wolf Predator Brown Wolfskin baseball hat - BH.com fleece Predator Gray hat (pack in the fleece hat too)
Rocky heavyweight fleece hand muff - Remington skin tight camo gloves

    Late-Season:
Rocky Performance Fleece heavy weight long underwear
Predator Brown Deception fleece vest (inside of jacket)
Gray Wolf Predator Brown - Wolfskin zip up collared jacket - Wolfskin Cargos
Gray Wolf Predator Brown Wolfskin baseball hat - BH.com fleece Predator Gray hat
Rocky heavyweight fleece neck gaitor - Rocky heavyweight fleece hand muff - Remington skin tight camo gloves

My socks are either Rocky lightweights (early season), or Rocky wool. If it gets below mid 30's, I'll put those disposable toe warmers on top of my feet. I typically wear my 800 gram Alpha Burley's all season long, but if it's really warm I have a pair of goretex cordura Rocky's I wear that have something like 200 grams of thinsulate in them, I typically won't wear these though unless it's in the 70's or warmer.

The Rocky stuff works well, but the only reason I have so much of it is because the in-laws sell it through their outdoor equipment business, I get it for a great deal. Their fleece baselayers I really like though. When I'm rifle hunting the adirondacks, you sweat like a pig going up those mountains, and when it's single digits, that stuff wicks sweat away faster than anything I've ever worn. I can be drenched in sweat from a hike going from 800 to 3000+ ft in elevation, and sit for 20 minutes, and I'm dry enough to put layers back on again. It's not bulky at all, and the last list I made for late season will keep me warm into single digits.

    Early season
Enduraskin base layer top/bottom (if it's super hot, I have a camo enduraskin top & wear just that)
Long sleeve camo shirt (if raining light weight camo rain gear jacket)
Regular 6 pocket camo pants (raining lightweight rain gear camo)
    Xscent socks
    camoskinz gloves

    Mid Season
Mix & match base layers of enduraskin, Xscent, polartec mid weight
Anything from the camo shirt to a light jacket
Regular pants or a insulated pair
    Xscent socks
    camo skinz gloves

    Late season
mix & match my polar tec mid weight stuff(wear walking in) & add cabelas heavy weight base layer or a polartec expidition top
    Predator fleece jacket(love it)
    Insulated pants
    Cold gear socks
    camoskinz gloves

I also wear some type of neck gaiter or full head cover to keep warm in cold weather. I think the one I have is supposed to be worn under a snow mobile helmet. Its warm. They I add a thermal hat to that.
Early-mid season usually top off with a boonie hat.
