That was my thought. I'm thinking he's 2.5. Hope to keep him in the area. I saw a 12 pt this year but never had him on cam and never provided a shot. We'll see what happens. Currently this is the largest buck I have on cam.
The hardest deer to age are anything above 5 and telling the difference between a 2 and 3. It still does not change the current score or next years math.
I am not saying that, I am saying use the math from the qdma article with the deer being 115" + or - 5". Plug the percentages in as a 2 1/2 and a 3 1/2. You would have a fair range of antler for next year and see if he is what you are looking for.
Well if he's 2.5 like I think and at 115 then if the formulas are accurate he could be round 138. According to the formula the biggest he could get is 161. I don't know how much faith I have in formulas but it is interesting.
I'd say he is 120-125" As for age... I'm gonna guess 3. Holds his mass, even through his tines. Decent beams, good sized body
Average growth rate between 2 and 3 then also 3 and 4 at times are amazing. No way of knowing for sure but he's definitely not far off if he's a healthy 3 year old. What is "enough" is personal choice, I'd sling an arrow at him no matter what he does next year because a 4 1/2 to me is mature for sure. Great buck there and hope he meets your standards!
A lot of guys thinking he is 3. For some reason I'm thinking he is a year younger. Gonna check cams tomorrow. If he is on there again maybe we can see a side shot of him.
Barely over 110. But I suck at scoreing. Looks like he'll be a nice buck one day. Good luck shooting him in a year or two. Also keep us updated if you get more pics of this deer. It would be nice to see him growing.
I have over 75 pics of him alone. I hope he grows. He looks so much better in the day light. Could be a stud next year.
Here is side pic. Shows his mass. The more I look at him the more I think this may be the buck to chase next year. Hopefully I'll be lucky enough to find his sheds to score.
