A female hunter on the show that can hunt. Not just for sex appeal. A woman that can put bone on the ground.
In addition to reading topo maps, I would like to see how the BHOD guys determine stand placements, and then how they decide which stand to hunt on a given day depending on stage of the rut, wind direction, time of day, etc. Like on the recent episode where Todd was pulling his 18 or 20 stands just from one property. I would drive myself crazy trying to pick which stand to hunt every time out, I have a hard enough time choosing between 3 or 4 lol. Then again, I've never been fortunate enough to hunt a property that holds deer, they are typically just passing through. So without knowing where they are bedding, I struggle with trying to pattern their movement. The land I hunt is also very hilly, so I'm always contemplating if I should be hunting on tops of ridges, in the creek bottoms, edges of fields, etc.
I liked the DIY/Educational bits in the last two episodes (Dan's setup and Justin's bit) and would like to see more on various topics. I do think Justin maybe tried to cover a bit too much, but it was good.
I'll say, Dubs bear hunt was one of the best episodes I've seen in awhile. Maybe it was because it wasn't a turkey Last year Clinton had a segment where he cut some trees and set a stand I believe. That's cool stuff IMO, and could fill some space. I still say we need a voting system...
I filmed years ago and put out a few dvds but life got too busy to keep up with making full dvds so I got out of filming. well this year I got all new video equipment. I am purely going to film for the fun of it and still produce some quality footage that is exciting. so if the BHOD guys need some PA footage I would be more than happy to give you guys what I film.
Web? Who uses the Web? For some items/topics that probably makes sense. Though weaving some, especially where it makes sense may, into episodes (IMHO) ads to the show. Any chance these could be linked into a Roku chapter, series or bhod subchannel? Seems like there is also usually a trade show with lots of 'cool stuff' du jour that could make to serve up in that manner too. Thanks Dr Pearce, et al!
I want to see Justin drop 2 giant whitetails and whatever he is chasing out west. I refused to be satisfied unless that happens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well I guess that fits my criteria, not exactly what I was thinking but I'll be satisfied Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I really enjoyed last year when Todd talked about the strategies of doe bedding areas for the pre-rut and then putting a big deer down employing that strategy. Good stuff. I also enjoy when people hunt other areas than corn fields and pasture edges. I only can hunt big timber, steep hillside areas and liked it when the guys went to the bow only counties in WV and filmed a hunt, thats real world stuff to me that I relate to. Cool to see them driving on a road that I travel everyday to work. I would agree with elk, bear, antelope, mulies. We need a BHOD crew to film not just a bear hunt but a spot and stalk grizzly bear hunt or maybe polar bear, just to add to the excitement level . And we are all pulling for you Justin. Great show in my opinion and I rarely miss an episode.
I'd like to see more maps of the areas you guys hunt and why you chose those stand sites. Break down the individual hunts more for a play by play of what lead to success/failure.
I would like to see a sale on some of those sweet skull cap/beanies that the guys wore back in season 1 of BHOD. I looked all over the website, but saw now camo skull caps like those. Please bring them back or tell me where they can be purchased. Been sitting on the couch with my new smart tv, watching all the shows starting back on season 1 and working my way back to where you are now. Love the old stuff (2010)
Some aerials of the properties would be cool with layout of stand locations and bedding/feeding/travel rtes. Just to give a better understanding to the viewers of the terrain. I guess that might be a pain in the rear end though.
