Polaris Ranger 800, Polaris Ranger 500, Polaris Sportsman 800, tractor, skid loader, or a 97 GMC Sierra. I don't think I have drug a deer more than 10 feet in over 4 years

Can't use ATVs on state land here, so when I'm on public it's pretty much the same, except I use the drap strap hooked to the HSS system; but same idea. The tarp also helps a lot with keeping the legs and horns from snagging on saplings and such. On one of the parcels I hunt there's a decent two track, so I'm also toying around with a bike trailer for my mountain bike, which will also help taking my stands in.

On the private parcel however, it will either be the jeep or the quad, depending on where he piles up.

I hate dragging deer. If I have to drag a deer more than 300 yards, I quarter it and pack it out. I can get a deer out in two trips no problem and it's far more enjoyable than dragging.

Hand on hoof. There's no other choice for this public lands hunter. I've seen a buddy cut the back legs where the gambrel would go and stuff the front legs through and hold the front Over the shoulders like a backpack. Looked and worked kinda cool. I'd just as well grab a hoof and literally "hoof it" though.

If I am at the cabin I use an atv. If I hunting public lands I use a deer sled, I have tried carts before but they are junk when you are not on a trail.

When we hunt public it's all dragging. When we hunt my Uncle's private land we usually get the tractor to help.
The drag out of the woods is a ton of work but its one of my favorite parts.

I've got a deer cart that is invaluable. It can be a bit troublesome if you're in some thick stuff but it's still worth it.

Years of dragging with just a rope I started to use a cart. But that requires me to go back to the truck or house and get it. carts also have trouble with swamps, slash and are best used on roads or trails or even somewhat level ground. I do leave it stashed on private where it has come in handy.

I tried different plastic sleds but they were stiff in the cold, did not stand up well and some just were useless. Now I use a product called Game Sled. Material is tough and flexible in the cold. Can be used as stretcher if needed. Rolled up in the case it can be used as a cushioned seat.

I drag by hand if it's too far I pack it out. On own land I'll drive to it but I'm generally not that lucky.

I hunt alone pretty much all the time. I bought a Glenn's deer drag rope and it's been one of the best purchases I've made. I can also load a 200 lb. deer in my off road Ram by myself.

Last week I dragged out a 165-180 lb Buck about 1 mile... Thankfully I'm in decent shape, but I still cursed the entire time...I'll be buying an ATV soon...lol

Do you have a pic? I've been thinking of modifying mine the same way.

If you can get one used, a Sked rescue stretcher is hard to beat. Deer drag so much easier on it, and with 2 guys you can carry the deer in it too. Problem is they are about $600 new so not very practical.

We use a deer cart thats rated at 500lbs i bought it at big r for 49.99 it works great i use it when im alone or at one of my stands thats far into the woods and i use regular pressure straps insted of heavy rachet straps i keep two in my bag they come in handy if i dont wanna go grab the cart and its not to far from the truck i put one of those around and antler or neck if a doe and drag them out with it. But my buddy bought a 25 dollar plastic wood hauling sled and it works great its just heavier duty plastic then a regular sled.

Usually drag somewhere to load in truck or utv. Usually two people grab on and drag. Buddy of mine used his harness this past year to drag and that really made it a lot easier.

You could also quarter up the deer if you are a long ways in and backpack out if you have that option. Google gutless methods and you'll see how. I've never done it but plan too.

The newest way that I've had a deer drug out was by my dad and his mule. Rope around the head and pulled the doe up a big bluff. The mule isn't an atv, but an actual mule. Best way I've seen to do it. Usually we drag up that huge hill and it isn't fun at all.
