Alarm, dog, me and a flashlight and then the Mossberg 500 or the officers model with the flashlight.

Prefer the alarm to all others.

I got my bassett hound and siberian husky for first line. They would run up to them and lick them to death and the hound dog howl would wake me up. Got the shotty in the closet and bow in the garage. Hoping to get my permit to carry and get a pistol which would go in the nightstand. Hope never to use it but would feel terrible if I didnt have it and something were to happen to my wife, dogs, and friends.

I too have a shotgun, 2 of them actually. None are loaded and ready for action though. To be honest I'm not worried In the least of something happening here where I live. I do get your point though. This world Is getting crazy. It's not really the people around you that you have to worry about. It's the yahoo's that swing through every now and then. I have a very short fuse. Probably a good reason not to have a loaded pistol In reach If someone came around acting funny. ;)

Pomeranian dogs are some of the best watch dogs there are. My grandma has had hers for about 10 years. It's aggressive towards other animals though. I haven't seen it fight a cat or a dog it hasn't beat yet LOL. Very loyal and extremely smart though. That dog understands things you wouldn't think a dog could understand. It even goes as far as hiding my grandmas shoes when it sees her getting ready to go somewhere.

I can only think of the video of the two state troopers unloading there guns at a suburban and not one round found it's mark....@ ten feet by trained professionals no less. Buy a shot gun and saw the barrel off as short as you can and then pray you never have to use it.
