Please give me your thoughts on an age for this buck. He is primarily a mountain deer. Acorns are the primary forage. The lower part of the mountain has a small field where some cattle are kept so he has access to mineral licks. This is the first time I have seen him. I like his little drop tine. I would love to see what he would grow into but given the chance I will take him with a bow. Because if it isn't me, the neighbor will. I know you can't see his whole body, but just your thoughts would be appreciated. Southwest Virginia, he is very nice for our area.
If he stays on our land he will be ok but if he leaves he will not be. Around my neck of the woods, you get braggin rights with this deer and you put him on the wall. I hope that if I can't get him he makes it to next year, if nothing else to maybe pass his genetics on.
