Hey guys, this is the first time that I have gotten a trail cam photo of a deer in velvet growing antlers. To me this buck is off to a great start but I don't know how great. This is on public land and I haven't had a trail cam photo of a buck over 135 inches. Do you think this one might go over that? Thanks ladies and gents! For him to have that much growth by 5/27 I would say he is going to look good! I can't say for sure if he'll hit 135 but he very well could! It is hard to see but when I found the sheds to this guy he was right around 130.
Hey is going to have decent width and mass. I think 130" may be reasonable for that deer. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I actually have three different bucks in this bachelor group. That first one just happened to be the biggest one. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Nice. Prob too early to tell on inches. If he turns out to be a 12pt or just an 8 will make a huge difference. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Two years ago I had an 135 inch 7 by 5. I didn't get any trail cam pictures of him nor did I hear of anyone shooting a giant. ( that's a giant here in north east. Especially on public) Last year we had really bad flooding so I thought he might have moved out of the area. Hopefully that is him coming back! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I will say that he won't go over 120. So here's the goal. Shoot him this fall and tell me that I was wrong.
I'm definitely going to try! Haha but I will say, I have yet to kill a deer on public land here and Texas so if I see a legal buck I'm shooting. I'm just hoping that it's that one that crosses me! Hopefully my brothers and I will get him down. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Don't care about "inches" but its a nice deer. IF you gat a change to kill it and it makes you happy, do so, if not, don't kill it.
