Deer activity was crazy good tonight except someone forgot to tell the big boys to get up from their nap!! 20 different deer tonight and half were bucks. Nothing more than a 2 yr old showed up. Had either a hot doe come in at dusk or she was close cause 3 bucks showed up on her trail. Successful hunt to me but frustrating nothing big was moving.
Hearing the big guys are starting to move again. Heard of a big 8 pt being hit yesterday morning. Last night I got this pic in a text from a coworker. His best friend shot it at his property last evening, 18 scorable points. Said that he went out to warm his truck up this morning, thought he heard a doe blow. While sitting in his truck a big 10 came out of the cut field, crossed the road and headed down his drive towards the woods.
One last crack at it this afternoon before the gun season arrives. Not a single shooter on camera, can count the number of deer I've seen on both hands, and it should be raining...something good is going to happen tonight. Checking cams when I get to the farm and making a gameplan frm there. Guns will be out tomorrow. Weather wise, it should be a good weekend.

I was out from dark to dark Tuesday and Wednesday. I had a doe about 10 yards from my stand on Tuesday, but it was before shooting light. Yesterday, I had a small 8 come directly to the base of my tree and then walked away from me downwind (I passed since he never presented a broadside or quartering away shot). I haven't seen a lot of chasing or seeking in my last 4 hunts, but the bigger bucks I have on camera may be locked down. I'll give it another shot this weekend...weather is predicted for 12* low and 34* high Saturday, so hopefully that gets the deer on their feet during daylight. Good luck everyone!
