Them tines look pretty long on that 10 In the trail cam photo's but they do look shorter In the kill pics you posted. Did you measure It yourself? Ever done It before? Just curious Is all. Maybe It's the cam making that buck look so big.

Yes I measured it myself and I think I done it right. I have been asking the same questions though cause the deer looks bigger to me than it scores. I think that the trail cam pics make him look much bigger. I have measured all my deer in the past and never felt like I was doing anything wrong. I got the score sheet off the pope and young web site.

Yea she did shoot him in the throat but with a 30-06 at 20ft. It was her first big buck and he was to close and came in to fast and she got nervous and shot him in the white patch on his neck. She almost missed cause he was angling toward her slightly and she shot him in the wind pipe ( look like she cut his throat with a knife) she said she was aiming at his front shoulder. I had a heck of a tracking job for the first 240 yrds then the blood poured out. It was a experience of a life time cause she was crying cause she thought she missed then after I went and found some blood she got all excited and after a 3 hr tracking job we found him she was crying again. Made for an outstanding day of hunting just to be part of it.
P.S. I waited till the next day to talk to her about taking a bad shot. Hope no one minds me posting it here on a bow site. Just thought I would post a follow up on the trail cam pics.

Here what I came up with just thought you might be interested.

    RIGHT Left Diff
    MB 18 4/8 17 4/8 1"
    G1 2 6/8 2 6/8
    G2 6 6/8 8 4/8 1 6/8
    G3 7 2/8 7 3/8 1/8
    G4 4 4/8 4 3/8 1/8

    H1 4 5/8 4 6/8 1/8
    H2 4 3 7/8 1/8
    H3 3 7/8 3 6/8 1/8
    H4 3 2/8 3 3/8 1/8

    Total 55 4/8 55 4/8 4 2/8

    Inside spread 15 6/8

    Total before deduct 126 6/8
    Total after deduct 122 4/8

Sorry the numbers are so close I did not post it that way just came out like that.

Thanks. She had me put on a plack and she hung it in the living room so everyone could see it. I wanted to mount it but she didnt want to. Just to say, this has been an exciting hunting year for us. I so happy for her.

congrats on a nice kill!!! Inches are just part of the hunt, the reward of harvesting a mature animal after lots of hardwork and hours spent scouting is far more important. He's a fine trophy.

Yes sir them were the temps. You get used to it in the early season down here. It don't get very cold here till the end of Nov. most of the time. We get a few low temps before that but don't usually last long. I would take the low temps any day.

Thanks bud I agree he is a trophy to me. I am not worried about the score either, I would shoot him again tomorrow. We hunted them two deer hard and careful. We killed them 2 bucks about 75 yards from each other 10 days apart on 6 acres of land. Plus my wife shot two does between were the two bucks were killed three days before I shot the 10 point. To me, we accomplished more this year than any other year in the past.
