Had a few pics of this deer in Illinois. He looks to be pretty mature....just a messed up rack. Or almost a lack there of.
I have one that I filmed a bunch last year that looks very simular. I have always wondered the same thing.
^ This... Or, I'd guess an infection during velvet. Saw a mulie out in CO that had a bunch of dried velvet left on his rack like that. He never dropped for 3 year, stuck sportin' his head gear year round. It'll be interesting to see what happens to this guy.
Hit by a car or wounded from a previous season? Do they say when a buck has a messed up rack, the body damage is on the opposite side. Mother Nature's way of balancing out the buck's body.
Implausible. We ALL know that if a RAGE hits an animal ANYWHERE, it dies. 'Increase YOUR kill zone'..
Man thats weird His bases look to be an older buck, but man he just dosent have it going on on the good side. Now the nubby, I dont know!
I was looking for injuries. I've heard opposite side rear injury and same side front for development. Don't see anything visible, but after reading Germs post he keeps looking older and older in the 2nd pic.
possible injury of some sort to his left side, that would cause stunted or abnormal points to right side?
Im going with wolves chasing him and he broke it off during velvet at it looks healed over. Hell I dont know.
