I’d like to hear objective opinions on this. What do you guys think is the red zone problem with the cowboys? Serious football question. Is it McCarthy? Dak? Just can’t figure out what happens. Same or even better players than the past 2 years in which they were 1st in the nfl in the red zone. Only thing missing is kellen Moore as oc. Is McCarthy really that bad at calling plays? This isn’t a bash cowboys thing, I have a long history of football coaches in my family and I can’t figure out what happens.

Probably get more attention in the NFL thread, not sure how many Cobweb fans are on here but I'm not one of them.

Can tell you one thing, Jerry Jones is the biggest reason they fail to succeed. Doesn't matter how much talent they have on the field, Jerry will negate that with his heartstrings as the Owner/GM. I hope he never relinguishes the role as long as he lives.

Sans the late 70's, Jimmy Johnson was the best thing to happen to them in the 90's, then Jerry let his heartstrings get in the way and brought in Switzer to ride the coat tails of Johnson, after ousting him, for a season before the Jerry effect took over.

Best thing Jerry could do for the Cowboys is sell them, but looks like his son(s) will keep them in the family and from an interview I seen, they don't fall far from the tree.

For sure Jerry is the reason for the most part for the years of failure. But I am talking about specifically this year in the red zone. They drive down the field and then 20 yds and in they suck.

Mike is the problem, same as in Green Bay his offense is too predictable.

Fire Mike hire a young offensive mind, like the OC of the Lions.

Seems like in the NFC the dominate teams all have invested in O and D lines. I have not spent much time looking at AFC teams and stats.
