That's strange. Been waiting to see a big buck down thread by you. I almost was wondering if I missed it. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
It was good in the sense that I killed a solid buck for our area. Bittersweet in that I missed a larger buck the day before from the same stand. I saw more 1.5yr old bucks this year than ever before. Still a healthy doe group (didn't shoot any...kept passing them because I was/am waiting for the most convenient time). All in all a good season so far. I'm glad that our doe sanctuary is really paying off with 5 different shooter bucks showing themselves consistently throughout November. Smile says it all:
Slow year just pleased to have the opportunity to spend time in the woods Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes, I just wanted to see what everyone else was seeing and to console myself. It's been 5 years since I haven't killed a buck by now, nothing more than a 6 or 7 pointer, but a kill nonetheless. I am partially to blame, I've passed on deer that I previously would have shot because we are trying to get more mature deer in the area plus I am trying to offer up as many points for my team as I can(bh.com contest). At some point I will try to shoot whatever I see for the meat plus a few points for the contest is better than no points for the contest. The fear of not getting anything and having to wait until next season hit me, luckily we have until the beginning of February here on Ohio.
Worst year for me in a while, haven't even drawn my bow back yet at a deer. Have had about 5-10 young bucks walk in front of me though. At this point I'll take a big fat doe and be happy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Worst bow season that I can remember to this point. Hopefully the 2nd half is better. Can't get much worse.
Worst bow season for me, also. Haven't seen a mature buck on the hoof and didn't see hardly any rut activity. Been a horrible year, but one big buck walking by late season could change all of that
