    Missouri:

    1) It's not Illinois or Kansas
    2) Still a very rural state
    3) Good communities for the most part
    4) Good hunting and fishing
    5) Families mostly here

Sometimes I wonder why I live here though. Family is really the only thing that has kept us grounded.

Ahhh where to begin with Rhode Island!!!!

The only thing that comes to mind is the archery season goes from september 15th, to january 31st, and you can get 3 buck tags and 5 doe tags......to use with any combination of archery/muzzleloader/shotgun.

I pretty much love everything about MD except for the politics.

    1. Crabs
    2. September-January hunting
    3. Ravens/Orioles
    4. Bass fishing is great
    5. 2 hrs from the beach
    6. Unlimited does and you can kill 4 bucks.

Unfortunately this is all ruined by liberals. Once I'm out I'm not coming back. 2 counties ruin this state. ✌️

I ask myself that regularly. Really dislike this state. Actually, it's not so much the state, as the Northeastern corner. Chicago, home of political corruption, polititians who never met a tax they didn't like, and the White Sox :dan:. If we could get rid of Chicago, the rest of the state would be pretty good.

Both my wife and my families live here, and are highly unlikely to move (both farmers). I have a good job with one of the largest companies in the country, but have very little chance of moving out of our corporate HQ. We did actually live in MO for several years and LOVED it, but the inconvenience of being farther from our families won out, and we moved back. Now I am too established in my career to make a switch.

My kids have been told in no uncertain terms that they DO NOT want to get stuck in IL. Once my kids are through with school, and on their own, we plan to downsize our house, in preparation for getting out of this state once I retire. I've got a while yet to go, though .

Understandable. I think family drives a lot of living location decisions.

The diverse topography, from the Daks to the Catskills, the St Lawrence River and 1000 islands region...the Hudson valley...all beautiful. Add to the LI sound and our beaches.
    Four distinct seasons.

Food, NY has some of the best restaurants around. Excellent local and ethnic markets .
Entertainment, plays, and sports.......lots to love about NY

    College Basketball.
    Family.
    Great deer hunting.

That's it. Family you only see on vacations anyway, and I can watch college basketball from anywhere in this country. Ill likely never move back to KY.

I know everyone is different, but that would really bother me. I know it would kill my wife (she's VERY close with her family).

However, I know plenty of people do just fine seeing their families a few times a year.

I see family nearly every day. That would be hard to give up. Especially since my father died and my mother lives alone.

I'm not very close with anyone outside my immediate family and my sister/her husband and my parents both travel a lot. Moving away for a couple years to finish up school opened my eyes to how much easier it would be than most think who have never moved away from family. Ask me that question 3 years ago and I'd laugh at any possibility outside of me living in my hometown.

See...that is one of the negatives of moving away. You use most of your vacation time traveling back home to visit family for the holidays instead of actually traveling.

Also a good point. I have summer's off, by my wife gets two weeks of vacation a year. I would be ticked if I had to spend it flying or driving back to PA:D

Weather you can work and play in year round.
    Always a growing economy.
Great fishing and marginally great hunting.

Could careless about any sports I'm not actually playing in.

    -Amazing summers
    -Green everywhere all year around
    -Clean air
-Takes minutes to get out to the country
    -Lots of rivers and mountains
-Hour and a half to the beach and a hour and a half to the mountain
    -No water shortages
    -Not to many people

Only thing is I don't agree with the politics which drives to much in my opinion

Have cool family that ones to travel as well. Haha

I understand if many are close with a large family how it may be tough. I'm just not. My sister and my parents are really it for me. We will likely go 3 ways on a beach condo/house to spend holidays at down the road (at least that's my moms intentions).
