I am putting together a video of my hunt and i think it is going to turn out great! I am just trying to get some opinions on hunting videos. I hear people all the time saying they don't like "this" and "that" in a video or they really liked "this". My question is what do you hate to see when you watch a hunting video that drives you crazy. Also what do you really like about a hunting video? Any opinions would be appreciated.
Love when people give the whole time-lapse of them walking to their stands and the sky passing over then brining it back into the woods and watching the deer. If that makes sense.
What he said. You have to turn it into a story and you cant miss any chapters. People wanna see the scenery of the are you are hunting. Midwest whitetail has great tips on filming hunts. Its listed under other videos then filming tips, they have a couple videos. Heres the link Creative Filming | Midwest Whitetail
I like seeing the scenery, the game, the killshot and the recovery but not too much of any single one of those and not enough of another. A balanced over view of the hunt in other words. Things I don't like to see: Camera right up in the hunters face, I have a very large personal space zone and I feel put off by a camera pointing up another dudes nose. A hunter getting so excited he/she about hyperventilates and falls out of the tree and especially if it's fake to add dramatic effect...that just makes me feel ill. Everyone knows the hunter is excited at some level or they wouldn't be wasting their time and money hunting. A big grin from ear to ear is enough to let me know a hunter appreciates the game he just took.
I like seeing the sights of the woods. I want to feel like I'm along in the tree. Also like hearing the strategy behind the hunt (wind direction, scouting, trail cam pics, food plots, etc.). Tell the whole story. I'm a big Heartland Bowhunter fan. Dislikes: heavy rock music, obnoxious product pimping
I'd have to disagree. Sure, show a quick pic of your walk to the stand but don't waste our time watching you walk for 20min or pack and drive your truck then your drive down the highway. We get it. Just show us the good stuff like nature and the game coming in. I hate when amateur videographers start acting like there rehearsing or trying to be discovered by A big Hollywood producer. But that's me.
I like the whole story. Before I go out. Getting ready, walking to the stand, interview, shooting the deer, recovery, and some people if they shoot a big buck put in a regastrion of people asking about the buck. I like when they give a little back story like if u have some history with the deer you killed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
