I have a long list will be on the road parts of the next 3 weeks still have to overseed the plot, fence it off and cut and split 3 more cords of oak, mow the lawn and pasture again amongst other projects.
Still need to finalize spots and hang stands. Have dove season starting next weekend and flight academy in Arizona the first week of October. Then hog hunting in Tennessee the second week of October. Good thing I won't get into the woods till late cause I'm behind. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Win the lotto so I can focus on hunting 'My glory is ever new with me, And my bow is renewed in my hand.'
I have to cut 5-7 cords of wood for my property owner. Trim 1 set Move 1 stand and make a mock scrape
Besides some last minute scouting & natural blind preparations I need to 1. Replace straps on a stand that has sat out all year, clear some shooting lanes and trail to & from stand. 2. Perform my annual scent treatment ritual on my hunting clothes & apparel. 3. Purchase a new pack of broadheads & Nockturnals. 4. Try to carve out some time from work to hunt. Things have been hectic, especially with all the rain we have gotten. I don't know how much hunting time I will be getting, but I think it will be severely shortened.
Move 2 more stands. Fertilize plots. Check cameras 1 more time before season. Make sure the raccoons haven't turned my hay bale blind into a party house. Shoot some geese. Get equipment ready for harvest.
Im usually done with everything by this time of year, but all I have out is my cameras.. and they have only been checked a handful of times. I have a couple stands still up from last year but I have at least 5 that need hung ( i also need to inspect the ones that stayed out). None of my clothes are ready and I am part of a 1000 acre lease in KY I haven't even seen yet. Bought a fishing boat this summer and have been addicted to chasing striped bass so I have put other things on the back burner. I thought I would take a more relaxed approach to archery but now all I feel is anxiety because I have done nothing but shoot my bow and occasionally check cameras.
1) Restain the deck if the temps cool off 2) Finish fletching extra arrows 3) Practice elk calling 4) Talk to wife's uncle about his hunting property 5) More long distance practice, practice shooting from knees for elk hunt
I have a bunch of things I want to do, but nothing that I'm really feeling all that compelled to do at this point. I'll likely hang and trim a few stands after the season starts just because I don't feel like doing it now. I may go fishing before the season starts too.
LOL. My work is done, also. I could've started hunting on 8/15, but it's entirely too hot for my taste. It's so hot outside you could break out in a sweat tying your shoes.
Yea we open here on 9/15. I don't really like hunting in the heat either. More so because I'd hate to let a deer sit overnight and it all go to waste.
Got the fence up 2 layers on 8' posts 1000' took a lot more zip ties than I remembered in the past, have to take down a ladder stand today and cut some more wood.
