When transporting your gear, obviously most of you keep the clothing in scent free bags, but what about your boots? Do you leave them out, and simply spray down in the field or do you put them in bags as well? I'm having trouble finding bags locally that are large enough to carry my boots, but I know they make them (H.S. for instance), but then again, I'm wondering how necessary it really is if properly sprayed down in the field. I did this (simply spraying down) the last two season, and had deer cross my trail several times with no harm, but I figure you can never be too careful. So what do you do your boots?

I keep mine in bags with fresh earth wafers, then spray when heading out. The HS bags are cheap and it's just one more thing that doesn't take much time or effort.

I usually put them on when I get to my destination and spray them down. I have had good luck doing this so far. I personally dont store them in bags. The one thing im careful about is not wearing at the gas pump and places like that where there is ALOT of bad scent laying around that im afraid ill pick up.

You can also buy those huge Ziplock bags. I keep my camo in them and they have plenty of room. I don't keep my boots in them tho. I just do like you and spray down before going into the woods.

Are they rubber? I wear mine while I'm driving :D I never stop for gas, in them, and they're stored in a Tupper-wear tub, in my shed, while not in use.

I use a system of large Tupper Ware containers. One has my Loggy harness, my Badlands Monster pack, my boots, and an open box of Baking Soda sitting inside. Everything stays in that container unless I'm getting dressed (outside on the porch) to head into the woods, if I come back to camp for lunch it all gets taken off and goes back in the container, none of it ever sees the inside of camp, or inside a vehicle. I'll change the box of baking soda several times a season too and will sometimes sprinkle half a box in the bottom, and usually sprinkle some in the boots as well to keep my foot smell down.

During the offseason, my boots get stored in my basement. When I go through the routine of washing clothes, etc before season starts.....I take my tupper ware containers, boots, anything else, and take them outside and scrub them down with a mixture of scent killer detergent. I usually let them sit outside for a day or two to dry well, and then arrange everything into the large Tupper Ware Containers. They stay there for the rest of season.

My main layers of clothes all get stored in those roll top waterproof Scent Lok bags, I have 2x of them. The only thing that doesn't get stored in an air tight container, is my climber. I keep that in the back of the truck, and between hunts it's stored outside of my house. I spray the heck out of it before and during hunts as well with scent killer. I'd like to find a big tupper ware container that will fit a lone wolf.......

I also have another container that I put all of my extra gear that may need to be scent free. I keep extra traction belts for my climber, spare tree pruning gear, tree steps, extra bottles of scent killer spray and detergent, and then all of my individually bagged (in 1 gallon zip locks) base layers that I intend to use for that weekends hunt.

All of the stuff then gets thrown in the back of the truck. The tupper ware keeps everything dry too when it's pouring like this weekend was. ;)

I have looked and looked and looked... Cant find anything for it or my Assault... That is not way to big to even be considered.

I bought a big bin that I store all of my climbing sticks in though during the offseason.

When I first get them I spray them down and only wear them in the woods. I never even take them out of my truck. I have never had a deer smell where I have walked either. I wear rubber boots. In the beginning they smell like rubber and after a few time through the spring woods with much they smell like dirt. I just throw a little baking soda in each boot/ With normal leather boots, I put baking soda in each boot and put them in an unscented garbage bag and tie it up until I'm ready to use.

I keep mine in a scent free bag. They are kept in the bag until I get to my spot and they are taken off as soon as I return to the truck. They ride in the bed of the truck on the way home and then are put back into the scent free bag.

Ditto ....... There's a creek that I have to cross to get to my hunting land also. I swish them around in there before heading to my stand.

I leave all my gear (minus scent lok) hanging outside, breeze hits em good up off the lake daily. My boots get thrown in the back of the pickup for transport, I spray them down real good before I enter the woods on a whitetail hunt, I douse the inside with that Scent killer powder or baking soda.. They (rubber boots) never come in the house once season starts.

The only thing I do with my boots is walk in cow**** with them. I only wear them for hunting and wear them while I drive to my spot. At times, the oder causes me to roll down my window while I'm driving. Other than that I don't do anything with them. No sprays, powder, bags.....nothing.

When I'm not wearing them, they ride in the bed of the truck. They stay in the truck all season unless I need to dry them.

I did wear them during the Spring bowfishing season and they got very covered with fish slime and blood. After cleaning them off, they just smell like rubber boots again.
