What peice of technology do you not buy?? For me, it's a range finder. I don't have an use for one, not against it for those who do, I just have never needed it..well, I guess I don't use a lot of stuff, no trail cams no gps either, I guess Im an idiot or just do see the real advantage in it for ME. what do you not buy?
Deer Scents, I prefer to use common sense!! If their nose is that damn good, they have to know it's fake!
Scents. Specifically, cover scents. I use absolutely no cover scent at all, and very, very little deer scent. I'll use a little buck urine in a mock scrape the right time of year, but that's it. I would rather smell like nothing than manufactured dirt.
Carbon clothes & trail cams. I have a GPS & a rangefinder, but the gps is mostly for not getting lost in unfamiliar territory, & the RF was for out west. I range a few trees here an there, but I've never(within modern times) been presented with a situation where knowing the exact yardage was needed for me to kill a deer.
I don't use a rangefinder either and don't plan on buying one where I hunt. I hunt in the woods, not on a field edge. I could see where maybe someone might have trouble ranging a deer in a field because the lack of trees to use as benchmarks for distance. But for those of us that hunt in the woods, we should be able to estimate 20-30 yards. I also do not use a peep sight anymore, and have not for 3 seasons. They are annoying little pieces of equipment.
Scents, scent control clothing, range finder, butt out, deer view mirror, c'mere deer, etc.. My pack may weight 30 lbs, but it does not contain those items
Hey, you never know when you may run into a survival situation on 200 acres You must be prepared! hehe
jeebus, I go without a ton... carbon clothes, range finder, doe pee and other deer scents, holy cow the list is probably longer than the list of stuff I take in... last year all I took in was my camo clothes on my back, bow, 3 arrows w/ broadheads, and my cell phone... this year the list will be longer... :D
Carbon Clothing. I have a GPS but only use it when out of state or fishing. I don't use a climber stand unless absolutely necessary.
