Firearms...for just about everything, but I primarily hunt deer with a bow (shotgun once)...

I won't pick up my bow for hunting again until Fall...scatter-gun for turkey.

I am kinda out there for firearms, building and collecting.

90% of the time I shoot guns it’s for fun.
I almost never shoot a bow for fun.

I enjoy bowhunting more than other types of hunting, but from the pure shooting aspect, guns win hands down.

Take the hunting aspect out of the equation & I’m not sure I would have ever picked up a bow.

My favorite thing to do is bowhunting whitetails...hands down. In a general sense tho, its guns. Trap and skeet, squirrel, birds, and its hard to beat shooting at a running rabbit. I also would rather target shoot with a gun than a bow...more variables with loads and such.

Bowhunting is my passion but now that the season is over, I move to shooting trap. My baby is my Beretta Teknys 12 gauge but picked up a Browning Maxus 12 gauge and am falling in love with the gun.

The past few years I have enjoyed nothing but shooting my bow. Here lately though, I've found myself tinkering with guns more and more. I'm even thinking about joining a range near my house that has a 500 yard range. I'd love to get out there and experiment and see what I could do at that distance. That is for pure enjoyment though. I'd never attempt to shoot a deer that far. Some find it fun or challenging...I think it wouldn't be fun but I'll give them the challenging part.

I really don't "enjoy" shooting my bow. I don't really "enjoy" shooting rifles either. But I could shoot claybirds all day with the shotgun. I like bowhunting the most though.

Rory, I felt the same way until I picked up a recurve. I now enjoy shooting whereas I never did before for whatever reason.

I love shooting no matter what it is: longbow, recurve or compound. But, physical limitations (torn shoulder rotators) keep me from shooting anything but a compound because of the let off.

Good to hear many are finding different ways to enjoy what it is they love to do.

For me, a rifle or any firearm for that matter was created to kill, the main objective being; to get the job done quick and effeciently. Wham Bam! Thank you Mam! Game over! Bows on the otherhand were made to kill with up close in a stealthy fashion. Bows intrigue me; when I kill something with a bow, at that time and moment I feel like a predator. With a rifle, I feel like I am simply harvesting.

I have never "wanted" to go shoot a gun for fun. They are loud and annoy me somewhat to just shoot, yet If I need to kill something to put meat in the freezer I respect my firearm and expect to get the job done with it. A rifle is still my best option as a killing "tool." But, put a bow in my hand and an internal instinct inside turns on that screams "hunt". I always feel much more motivated and focused when I bowhunt. Its A feeling I hope I never lose! Finally, I quite often "want" to go shoot my bows just for fun, not just to hunt with, they are enjoyable to shoot for hours, they never annoy me and represent a true artform. Hands down, the thing I love most about bowhunting is that we are forced to get close to make a shot.

100 different guns for each caliber and a 100 different bullets for each gun..........handguns, shotguns, rifles, muzzleloaders in any of the previous, shot, bullets, slugs, dozens of powders and 1,000 page books just to cover the load possibilities to tinker with. Optics choices a mile long and accessories for every need you can dream up.

The incredible minutia of firearms and accuracy is a facinating thing where 0.001" could be the difference between success and failure.

No contest for me on pure enjoyment........in fact shooting a bow is actually quite boring to me. I could go to the rifle range every day of the year and never do the same thing twice.

My enjoyment of a hunt rarely, if ever has anything to do with what weapon is in my hand.

Artform? Are you talking about going out and shooting your compound? No wrong answer......just asking.

Atlas...that list is impressive. I've never seen anything like that. "Cool" is an understatement.

    Ditto

And I enjoy just shooting my bow as well. I don't enjoy shooting a gun for the heck of it either. Just no interest. I could shoot my bow everyday and have fun with it.

Me either, NY. The exception would be the ML. Heck, I even enjoy cleaning it. I'm weird.

I can certainly see how people DO enjoy shooting for the heck of it, though......ditto any bow. If you consider 3D bow shooting.......that's heightened.

Interesting. Some responses are surprising, but certainly interesting.

For myself, when it comes to recreational shooting, it's MUCH easier, cheaper, and convenient to shoot my bow. I do enjoy shooting certain types of firearms (primarily handguns and trap/skeet...not too big on bench shooting), however. Just hard to find the time sometimes to drive to my cabin to do it (while my parents farms is only 1 mile away, I don't shoot for recreation on it).
