I see all these commercials for electric vehicles used for hunting on the hunting shows and wonder who honestly buys these things? Not only can I not afford one, I don't think I really need one. I've gotten by for years parking my Silverado at the nearest spot and walking the rest of the way in. So, what is your guys' hunting vehicles? I know a lot of guys that hunt out of Corollas and Cavaliers so have no shame :D
'01 Ford Ranger. Been good to me and love no car payment but I'll be moving on hopefully before next deer season In its not so glorious moment, hunting a new lease a few years back. Buddy told me to take the short way around the field. DOH!!!
In my mind it seemed to work because how you get there is all part of hunting. But, if it bothers people an Admin can move it if they like! Anyway, I have a 99 Silverado 1500. It's been a good truck and has a lot of miles on it now. Almost time for new tires before Winter!
1994 Chevy Silverado 23X,XXX miles runnin like a top! Lookin at getting a 08 or 09 Silverado this Spring
2004 Dodge 2500 4x4 diesel, ezgo st 4x4 and yamaha 400 4 wheeler. 99% of time I drive my truck to a spot and walk the rest of the way but I do have some areas that I go to on my property that you can't get a truck or it would end up like the Ford. I tend to think that everyones hunting situation would be different and the need for one of the atv or utvs would depend on the access. Just as an example, I hunted in a club several years ago that did not allow trucks on any of the roads away from the camp area and it was 5.5 miles to the back of the property.
I drive my 2001 FORD ESCORT. She is a quiet little beast and will go anywhere. I check all my trail cameras in her. The afternoon that we killed the big 8 I drove the old girl to the food plot and checked the cam in my hip waders. I love that car. Great gas mileage and as long as your not worried about looking cool your good to go. ACTUALLY come to think of it I put the back seat down and slid my iowa buck in the trunk last year and drove home. I should of filmed it for the show. Thats the stuff that you dont see on tv.
Can't top that, but I take my '09 Dodge Caliber. I use a small flat that attaches to my hitch in case I need to haul anything home.
