I usually call one or two people from the stand just to get out what went down while it's fresh in my mind. Then the mass txts start.
I start shaking, begin repeeting "Oh my God", smile like a opossum eating s*^&, then give a fist pump with a woooo-hoooo when I find him:d
The first thing I do is grab the rack with both hands and just look the buck over and admire him for awhile. Then I'll sit down and take a minute to think about everything that just happend. Then as I start to walk back to the truck to get help I give a couple fist pumps and yell out a couple times. Of course I'll also call some buddies to give them the news.
X2 - funny stuff Magic! Come on Greg, the picture please!!! I myself got my 1st buck, a nice 6 pointer with my muzzle loader from a stand by myself. I had taken a spill while bird hunting the week before and bruised 3 ribs, kidney and lung. As this buck came from in back of me and on the right, I had too reach around for a VERY painful shot. What I did next, was try not to pass out from the sweat and pain and slowly get out of that tree! He ran 150 yard, in which I had to drag him back up the hill to the trail, this took an hour alone - Ouch! Yes, the camera came out and all my buddies got calls and pictures, via email - Wa-Hoo!
Every big buck I've ever shot I was by myself. I thank God on giving me this opportunity and take a few to just examine the buck. I'll sometimes even follow the trail from POI to where he is if he went a 100 yards or so, then I try to figure out how am I going to get this brute out of here by myself.
