I agree on our opener the second deer I saw was a fat doe with her fawn, I never even thought twice about shooting her...this is a sport not a massacre, how about a little fred bear in all of us?

Gotta admit I'm on board with Fran, you don't become King without wisdom.

    It's only a deer...whats the debate?

As a youth rabbit hunting with dad, he had the knack to leap on tightly sitting bunnies and catching them alive.
I had killed 3 that we jumped that morning and only needed 1 for my first limit. He caught one sitting, we took it to a much more clear opening where he was gonna let it go and allow me a shot to limit out. Well after petting the thing and so on, once he let it go I blew the shot purposely. Why was this bunny different then the 3 in my pouch? Personal interaction??

We can be killers and softies at the same time...who has more respect and admiration for animals than those who hunt them?

This thread cracks me up, replace "momma and two little ones" with "a decent 8" and see what happens. Deer are deer, put them on a pedestal if you want, love them and hug them and sqeeze them and feed them and pet them and watch them out your window if that's what floats your boat. I'll just go ahead and hunt them. Bambi, thumper, and the whole crew should take cover or get introduced to the crock pot. Speaking of pots....pot stirred. Over and out.
