Maybe you don't need to, but for those that do, what do you do when you just need to vent? I'm getting myself super stressed out over a lot of things lately, and I'm just taking it out in the wrong way. I lift, but it doesn't do much. I run, and nothing. I'm getting irritated more easily, and mostly because I'm stressed over the house, the wedding, money, etc. I know those things (except the wedding) are all part of life and aren't going anywhere, and usually I'm pretty good at just letting it roll off, but lately I feel I need to do something to keep me relaxed or to release all this stress. How about just sitting down in the woods somewhere? Lol:confused: :d

Yep, what he said. I run until I feel like I'm going to collapse, then walk a short distance... then I run some more. It's the only thing that lasts long enough to get my mind off stuff.

Play basketball. My rim is set up at 9'4" so i just do my best Micheal Jordan/Lebron James/Kobe Bryant/Vince Carter impersonation. I can grab rim on a regulation basketball hoop, but i cant palm a ball (small fingers). Playign with your buddies on a 9' hoop is a blast.

Shoot. When I wired up I love shooting guns. Rapid firing a .22 can help. The wedding can bring more stress than you think. Just hang in there and have a couple

Matt, split some wood. Swing that thing until your arms want to fall off. That's what I have done. Well, when that doesn't work I usually blow stuff up.

I live in the Chicago area a crap load of stress just driving to work and back not including work. This works for me…………

I always go to the woods, find a nice spot just sit and watch the animals do their thing. After an hour of that I just become part of the woods. And really do not think of anything at all. That works for me.

And of course it that doesn’t work I just have a couple Jack & Coke more Jack than Coke…………LOL

Go find somewhere quiet away from everyone (i.e. woods, hilltop) where you have a nice view. From there, think about what your
stressed over. Is there really any reason to get stressed over issues we are not in control of? Or what about the things
we can control, but don't do anything about it.....don't let it eat at you, life is to short. Just be thankful that your able
to experience all of life's ups and downs, good and bad...some people never get the opportunity too.

I like to take a walk in the woods and think..also fish, plant things, shoot the bow, shoot the .45, take the canoe down the whitewater/little miami rivers, build something, tear something down..

If I'm angry, I can come on here and entertain myself by reading arguments and internet ego contests...:d :argue:

MGH PA, congrats on getting married

Matt .... trust me on this one ..... get a Bible and go to a peaceful place and read, read, read. Start with the Book of John ...read some Psalms and Proverbs .... talk to your Creator ... you will get a peace that passeth understanding ....

Dude play raquetball. That will get you so tired you won't have the energy to be stressed.

    It's mind over matter...
Your mind is a powerful thing and you have to do the best to control it.
I have never had any issues controlling stress in my 42 years of life until February....

    I had a tough 5 or 6 weeks (self employed with PITA employees & customers)(I swear I'm a babysitter),
vacation was approaching, which brought crunch time and the old chest started scarring me.
A crash visit to the emergency room and a huge scare!!!

Fortunately for my family and me, I got a clean bill of health and realized that I can't sweat the small stuff!
Sometimes it's harder to do than others, but you just gotta let it go.

The woods work for me or step outside to toss a fishing line in the lake if it's not that time of the season.
    Take it easy dude!

I've been fortunate that I am able to quickly let things go & not dwell on them. The rare times I do get stressed I run.

Back when I lifted often, that soaked up stress right there.

Mindlessly surfing hutning message boards helps too.

I fish and fish and fish. If that doesn't work, I fish some more. While I am fishing I usually commune w/The Lord and peace comes quickly.

    Lift harder.

    Run harder.

    Works for me sometimes.

But I nice, long, hard run in the woods works wonders.

Seriously, exercise is the greatest stress reducer anyone can do. It release "feel good" endorphins. It's the best high anyone can get.

When I'm stressed I hit the gym harder then a normal day. I'll add more weight, lift more reps or sets or stay on the cardio machines longer. It helps me out.
