I am betting 98% of our population folds if this ever happened, just like most other things they encounter that are difficult and uncomfortable. The pioneer spirit of our country is being replaced by a much physically and mentally softer replacement. Our country would have never gotten as far as we have if the sissy mentally we are currently cursed with was as rampant back in our founding years and beyond as it is now. And once again I blame it on the "men" .

I know this, in any kind of civil war/revolution started happening U.S. government wouldn't be our biggest problem. I'm betting there is a lot of countries out there trying to get a piece of us (besides the ones already doing that financially) .

Ted Nugent will just have to give every body a swift kick in the *** and make them stand up for their "human rights".

Doubt that will happen. The last time he had an opportunity to lay his life on the line for this country rumour has it that he **** himself.

Because of the sacrafice of our founding fathers I have enjoyed 41 years of freedom. Many of those who died liberating us never got to taste the very freedom so many take for granted. They died for a cause they truly believed in. The least I could do is stand up for the very same ideals so that future generations can experience that same freedom, and I think more people share my beliefs and would sacrafice for those beliefs than some here give credit.

To go along with Hooker's hypothetical scenario, if it did come down to that I would pack up my truck with my dogs and guns and my bow (and other essential ****) and head for the mountains and drop off the grid. If they really want the guns that bad, they can come play Hatfields and McCoys with me in the woods. Of course, initial prep once setting up a cabin is to set traps all over the place! Ha!

I remember some things in our recent past during which people just rolled over and let happen without putting up a fight.....

    1) Our Japanese-American brothers and sisters were led off to internment camps during WWII and not only lost their dignity, had their Constitutional rights violated in a sever manner, but lost all of their hard earned property and money.

    2) People just let law-makers pass laws like Affirmative Action which violate our Constitution to the very core. Those kind of laws not only violate our Constitution but also divide us. The sissy lawmakers that allowed that to happen should be ashamed as well as the Supreme Court justices that initially believed (ok convinced) themselves that AA was constituational on it's face. Sick.

    3) Bankers, lenders, and loan officers bowed down to the pressure from groups like the Rainbow Coalition and Jesse Jackson when they came in threatening lawsuits because the banks were not loaning out money for home loans to the financially tight or high risk candidates. Look where that got our economy. I would have told them to shove it up their rear.

    4) Spineless, sissy judges that allow and entertain frivilous law-suits. Those lawsuits have forever changed the landscape and scope of our judicial system in a negative manner.....they also maintain the new and ever improving "victim" mentality in our society. Why some of those judges are not removed from office is beyond me.

We just drive to work and back each day (myself included) and forget that every little decision we make or do not make allows others to make those decisions for us. Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and cannot believe how myself and others allow the law-makers to get away with enacting certain laws without taking a stand and raising a ruckus. "Ants Marching".

I have read a report that says as many as 35 - 50% of Americans owns a gun. If that’s true -- let’s just say that number is equals to 15,000,000 gun toting Americans with the mindset that our second amendment right is worth fighting for.
If true that would make gun owners in the US the largest army in the world. China has maybe 3 million in its army, Russia and the US 1.5 million apiece for example. Now what government would want to start a fight with that army?
I think what is lost in all this spewing is the fact that a gun doesn’t jump out of the safe or the gun case and go kill someone. It’s been said over and over, People kill people guns are just one tool they use to do so. What if this last crazy loon had used gasoline bombs instead of a gun, would there be an outcry to control gasoline?
The point is we have way too many crazy people running around that have access to guns.
I vote we control the crazy people better!

Back on topic" I got guns for them.. pop guns dart guns crossbows :)

Math was never my best subject, but your American militia doubles the entire population of the world. Lol

So your saying we have a 15-3 advantage over the Chinese? I think they will take those odds any day. One highly trained military man can take out three yahoos with guns everyday of the week. How many of those 15 million gun toting Americans can stand up to a highly trained soldier? My guess is not many. Just my opinion.

Yep just your opinion... we all have one--- and you are entitled to yours..

Nope I'm saying we have a 5 to 1 advantage... I hazard to guess that you must have a military background, and if you do I salute you for all you have done for our country.

I will play. If they only want semi-auto weapons that were designed for professional use and never really intended for civilian use, I willingly hand them over. If they want anything more than that, I stash them. I never swallowed the "slippery slope" bait.

I just can't see this happening. With nearly 300 million guns in the states that's a lot of doors to knock on. Speaking of 300 million if you compared that to the 15 thousand(+/-) homicides, it seems to me that the ratio is about 1 homicide per 20 thousand guns, or to put this another way > 99.95% of our guns are not being used as homicide weapons. Weird huh?

Fletch why would you ever want Beaver repellent?

Problem is, you can have as many men as you want, but organization is key, and I know it would take a damn long time to sort out some kind of 'order' in this militia of yours. BUT I also know that pretty much every US marine, like myself, is a gun loving redneck that would never execute that order. And we all know that the army is weak, so the government would probably loose. (Just kidding army, we love ya)

Not to say your wrong with your statement but there are several times throughout history where a under trained mob withstood any highly trained military. Granted casualties would be devastating but it's not like the "mob" would all be Yahoo's that own guns and think they're Rambo. Hopefully this all stays hypocritical

Well I don't have any in my immediate family ( just grandparents) but I'm only 19. But I have seen what highly trained personnel can do and it scares me.
