Pretend land... raise a militia which I call the Wolverines after my local high school mascot. We will manage to overthrow the entire establishment, which will in turn make Kate Upton take notice of me and we will live happily ever after, guns and all.
Unfortunately I think, for the most part, this is true. But I also believe that there are some amongst us that would not stand for it. I am one of them, this is a VERY intense hypothetical however and one can only wonder what will actually materialize in the future. I have much hope and faith for our country and countrymen. But, a bunch of years ago I made a promise, a promise to this COUNTRY and the PEOPLE in it, and I for one will keep my word. However that promise's wording is a little different for me now it's something like this: "I, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same. So help me God." End of opinion. :D
Have them! I can't hit the broadside of a barn with a gun. Youll have to pry my bow out of my cold dead fingers though. I prefer the silent stealthy approach anyway.
I have an issue with that Germ. You have to stand for something. "They" are us. I am a police officer, second. I am an American citizen first. I don't feel any different than any other citizen other than I have a specific job to do at work. Our federal government AND local governments are way to large, therefore people have begun differentiating themselves from those federal workers. That is another story and I will leave it at that. I for one don't talk cheap. I am no tough guy but I will tell you this.......I would tell my family I would be fighting for something bigger than myself if THEY tried to take my guns. And I would have to deal with the consequences. Basically, I ain't no female body part. The second you allow a government complete control over it's citizens via superior firepower on a day to day basis is the day the citizens are seriously put at risk. I for one wouldn't stand for it.
One of the lasting things that my military experience gave was a close look at other countries and their "freedoms". There are many, many freedoms that we take for granted in America that are non-existant in other countries, even in what you might consider modern countries. I'll never forget my trip into East Berlin (1980). You went through the gate and it was like stepping onto a movie set. Very, very surreal. If you think our justice system is bad then don't get arrested in another country. You will quickly learn what injustice is. Anyway, I know what I think real freedom is and the only place I have seen it is here, in America, and I have been to a lot of other countries. Yes, this is all talk but, I can promise you, if this country becomes so bad that they begin to take away our freedoms then me and my family will not go along with it quietly because someone thinks it is in our "best interest".
Oh I'm not disagreeing with you! They will though, its always been that way. The price of ammo has been climbing for years now...
+1 my sentiments exactly I would send my family away, and unfortunately die for what I believe in. It truly is bigger and more important than one person.Thankfully i was trained, like many others here by our government(USMC), so i wont go alone, and eventually freedom will prevail. Lets hope it never comes to that
My guess is I would not know who "they" were. If I am alone and my kids are not in the house it's a different story perhaps. In no way will I put my kids in danager. Does this mean I will not fight via a rebellion? No it's does'nt, what we are pretending right now I think is the Miltary(they) show up at more door. I have my family behind me, in that moment is not the time to fight, but that does not mean I am not going to fight.
In this hypothetical your family was in danger long before they showed up at your door. That your family would even be there when they showed up is bad judgement. That you would even be there is more bad judgement. That you would give up your guns is more bad judgement. They may search my house but they will do it without my family, me my dogs or my guns being there.
Yes, that is how lucky we are. And it is pretend because there were men that died to keep it from happening. It isn't pretend here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOJeA0s3x2A
Sounds like we got a bunch of Patrick Swayzes up in here ready to take on entire army's with his bolt action .22 and a bandana. I have a hard time believing our military would even execute such orders... But I'd be living in Alaska by the time such orders take place and I doubt they go all the way up there. I spit out my water laughing when Hook said cant you people pretend!
