State government - information technology. I work with a great technician on my team and have a pretty good management team. Off days are pretty flexible and when you add up state holidays, vacation hours, comp hours I have plenty of paid time to take off - very grateful for that.

Just went from working local county assessors office to now partner upped with another gentleman in offering advance valuation models for county governments seeking a better way to value properties based on the market. *Basically Assessing Valuation Consultant for local governments but also rep for private entities in counties we are not contracted to.

Also recently started a property holdings llc which hopefully win some bids at the tax sale (Oct. 2nd) and in a year take possession of and flip many of them.

I work in Radiology IT Support systems for a fairly large hospital. The pay sucks actually but I cant complain because it supports my family and im working an IT position with no degree or certificate what so ever. I get 5 weeks every year.

That does sound like a good job. I've been considering that since I chose to leave the army but I think it's a hard career to get into these days.

I just completed my 20th year as the local lead fleet technician for the largest natural gas distributor in Northern Illinois. I get 26 vacation days this year and still have 14 left. I earn about a day a year with a max of 33, plus 9 paid holidays and sick time. I realy love my job, just not the hours sometimes. Our shifts are 7AM-3:30PM and 3:30PM-midnight(SUX) We rotate 2 weeks at a time(currently on my 2nd week of afternoons)

I'm in sales for industrial material handling equipment (no fork trucks), shelving, racking, mezzanines, conveyor, etc. , etc.
Been at this for the last 35 years, 25 of those at the current place...I love this, I get out on the road at times and do what I want, when I want and how I want. No real vacation time since I am 100% commission, but I probably take about 3 good weeks a year, and lots of half days or whenever I feel like not working !!
Find a job you love and you will never work another day in your life !!!!

Technology education instructor. Great pension for now, plenty of time off, etc, etc. Looking to leave for higher education teaching, but we'll see. With my wife and I investing as we are, hope to be retired by age 50.

I am a former airline pilot and currently work as an Executive Director in higher education. I absolutely love what I do. I manage a team which supports students with their career development. As for time off, We acquire x number of hours of personal leave every pay check and once we acrew 240 hours (6 weeks) we have to use it. I acrew almost 3 days every month. I love the system, it provides me plenty of time to hunt, when I want.

I was at Verizon Wireless for 12 years until last August. I started at Capital One in January as a Unit Manager over a team in the Credit Card Customer Care center. Recently I was promoted and just started a team of floor support people (15 total) and also have 16-20 new hires that work under me for 3-4 weeks as they adjust to taking calls. They are assisted by three additional floor support associates and two coordinators so I have anywhere from 15-41 people that will report to me depending on new hire classes. I received two weeks of vacation time for the first year and will gain one more in January and will have 4 weeks once I hit the 4 week mark. We also get unlimited sick days if needed but I haven't used one this year.
