Let it fly!!!! It is just alittle harder when I am the cameraman and Steve is below me you know wind and all!!!Walt
Last October, close to Halloween I peed off the stand and had a little 1.5 come in an hour later, sniff it, and try to make his own little scrape in it. Pathetic little scrape, but a scrape none the less. It was very cool to watch. I think some deer just smell the Urea in our urine and maybe don't assocaite it with a humans. But I dunno, just a guess... My buddy pees around his garden thinking it will keep the deer away, and the deer pretty much make a fool of him and his "urine deer scram" idea..:D
After reading about the guys that pee in a gatorade bottle, I've come to the conclusion that under no circumstances am I going to accept a drink from anyone in the woods!
I try to hold it if there's daylight. I hunt on very public ground (lots of joggers and walkers and other hunters) and it's hard to drop drawers and not have my big pale butt visible to someone. I'm not worried about my urine scent at all tho'. I've actually seen bucks go out of their way to come check out where I've peed.
The only way a deer is going to associate your pee with a predator is if they actually see you peeing or you leave your scent in the area. I've had 3.5 year old bucks smell both of my excellence and they never cared a bit.
not an issue typically...but a few times a year (on all day sits for sure)...let it rip. Used to worry about it...but I have had plenty of deer come straight to spot and be very curious - both nice bucks and does...I do not feel it would ever spook them...
I use a large mouth gatorade bottle or I have a couple of extra camel back bladders that have a very large refill opening. (easy to use) the camel back bladder seals up nice and has a hook i can use to hang it from, you just have to be sure not to get it mixed up with the one with water.
I go at the truck and have never had an issue holding it for 4-5 hours... On an all day deal, I vary my tactics.
