What do you do about peeing while on stand? Assuming you are going to be on stand for longer than you can hold it. Do you carry those portable "john" containers? Do you just let r rip? In the past I have used one of larger Gatorade containers. I would drink the Gatorade and then I would have a perfect bottle to pee in when I was done. Problem is, because I drank so much Gatorade the volume of the container was only enough for 1/2 the day. That did not allow me to sit all day without getting down and walking back to the truck or someplace safe to dump it. So what do you do?
I let er rip off the side of the stand. Deer don't seem to be able to tell the difference from all the other urine they smell in the woods or at least are not alarmed by it from my observations. Some people have even pissed in scrapes and watched bucks come up and work em.
I bring an empty gatorade bottle... it has a wide mouth I usually fill the bottle by the end of an all day sit, too much coffee I suppose
#2 I tend to be able to hold if necessary. Either I have to go first thing in the morning or I can hold it. Besides holding #2 just gives me better gas.
I let it fly. I've had numerous deer come by after draining the ole lizard and they didn't seem to care one bit.
I actually read an article recently that was about exposing hunting myths and one of them was about peeing in the woods. The article stated that the smell did not disrupt deer movement. The article is here.

Let it fly from the stand too......:D Not really, but urine, flows away. I actually had an opportunity at one of the largest bucks of my life just a few short minutes after peeing from stand. Didn't turn out the way I hoped, but it wasn't anything to do with me peeing out of the tree!!!
I pee down the side of the tree and into a bottle. I then look for a scrape in the area and combine the scrape dirt with my urine. When you add the scrape dirt to my already naturally elevated, dominant, testosterone filled urine you get a powerful attractant. Then I pour the mix all over my body prior to heading into the woods.
I've stated my position on numerous forums over the years... I unequivocally believe urine does not give deer a reason for suspicion -- in the least. Too many first-hand accounts to have any reason to believe differently. I've posted this anecdotal evidence before, but many on here haven't read it so I'll offer it up again: The year I killed my biggest buck to date, I saw the bruiser six different times. Twice before I was able to release an arrow through him I had him squarely in bow range; once, he walked directly under my platform but offered no shot opportunity. Why's that relevant to this discussion? Because I ALWAYS pee out of my stands... almost without exception; I simply sit too long to avoid not having to go. The third time I had this guy in bow range, and the sixth overall sighting, I shot him at 17 yards... public land where bucks of this caliber won't stand for sloppy hunting tactics.
Being a dominant buck I would be afraid that I would scare away all but the largest of the species. Now for the real truth,I let fly right from the stand I have never had deer spook at all and have had them come by shortly after.If my morning sit will be ending soon I hold it and tale a leak in a scrape close by or I make a mock scrape and take a leak in it.
I always try to take a leak at the truck before heading into the woods. I've never had a problem holding it.
