I am going to guess that the 4 people that voted over 200 inches as big, are high. I mean really? I am lucky enough to live in the land of the giants and can tell you that 200 inches is not just big, but it is absurdly big. I have seen exactly ONE on the hoof and have had my hands on 4 of them in over 30 years. I am guessing that if those same folks saw a 180's 10 point walk past their tree, they would consider it to be BIG. lol For the record, I voted 170 - 180 as BIG. I will kill deer smaller, and have killed deer bigger, but that is big to me.
I've held three 200" from my county myself and still think 130" is a big buck. I've ran cameras for 11 seasons now and only have pictures of 1 confirmed 200" and 3 or 4 over 170" bucks. And that's with hundreds of different bucks on camera (10-15 different bucks a year). That's less than 3% over 170". 170" is a giant IMO. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Honestly I'm all for filling the freezer, but if one of the 4 8-10 pt bucks show up, I will for sure take it!!
I wonder what the percentage of members here that have killed a 170" buck with any type of weapon? I am not talking net either just gross score. I bet it is VERY LOW.
I guarantee that you are right. I would guess that if you took that a step further and counted the number of guys that have killed a buck over 180......you could count it on two hands. To me, that means a BIG buck is a lot smaller than 200 inches.
To me around my area 130-140 is a big buck, 150 + is a giant. Personally I am usually after a buck in that upper 120-140 range every year. But I will shoot a 110 buck all day long as long as he meets my 3 1/2 year old minimum
Not to toot my own horn but this is what I consider a big buck. Its ky's biggest by bow that I know of. Scored 158 5/8" its a 8ptr my biggest to date. I have 6 others by bow. net Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
150 incher. Though I've only saw a few here where I hunt in Minnesota. Seeing a 130 incher is a tough task here. Hard to get age on our bucks here. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
150 or bigger in my neck of the woods. Different terrain and different states make a difference. The trophy is in the eye of the guy squeezing the trigger. I myself try to look at age and maturity before I look at the rack size. But if its a 150+ he's getting shot in less he's like a 2 year old giant. Hard to come by those in free range fair chase. I'd say 135 is a big buck. Got one last year and the deer here have huge bodies. Now I'm after a monster you guys ever measure neck size when you get em? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Fre
