I was wondering what y'all do on those long and cold sits when the action is very slow?

Morning hunts? I usually leave to head back for breakfast. :D I have a much easier time on evening hunts since darkness is a clear marker on when you should leave the stand

Honestly cold doesnt bother me. Im a duck hunter also so im used to being wet and miserable. Deer hunting is a piece of cake when it comes to being comfortable compared to waterfowl hunting.

Just tough it out. I know y'all think Texas doesnt get cold but it does. I dont read look at phone or anything else. I am in the woods to hunt and be outdoors, old school I know but there you go. And if you want to be cold be in freezing water for a few hours with a BIG leak in your wadders

The cold doesn't bother me, I actually enjoy cold weather. I just keep looking for deer since that's why I'm out there. Even if there's no deer, I enjoy the scenery, birds, noises and smells of nature.

Be prepared for the cold. Bring enough layers. Take some off to go in, put on when you get on stand. Good warm boots, wool socks, and warm gloves can make or break a hunt and staying on stand. Also, handwarmers can really help and a good muff. www.soundbarrierhunting.com

I walk to the stand at a slower pace and keep my hat off until I get seated in my stand. Works pretty good for me.

I'm mostly a morning hunter so after I get settled into my stand I normally take a nice peaceful nap in the woods till I hear a twig break
